G7 Sanctions: 🚨 what a weekend of work & wonder 💭
So, let's talk about the recent Antwerp police 👮 busts, sparked by suspicions around Russian 🇷🇺 diamond imports, which ended up with four people in cuffs. It's a big wake-up call, showing us just how crucial it is to stay on our toes and play by the rules in our industry.
I spent the weekend looking back on the first 20 days of the sunrise period with our team, & amidst all the sanctions and certifications flying around, it's clear there's a ton of uncertainty in the air. But hey, amidst all this chaos, recent events are like a flashing neon sign reminding us to keep our eyes peeled and stay on the straight and narrow.
Those Antwerp 🇧🇪 raids, specifically aimed at those Russian diamonds, really shine a light on how the rules of the game are changing in the world of trade. It's all about stepping up our game and making sure we've got our compliance game strong.
With the 🇪🇺 EU and G7 banning Russian diamonds left, right, and center since January 1st, and extending it to Russian-origin stones via third countries from March 1st, it's a whole new ball game out there.
Working with our customers is exhilarating, they are quick on their feet & stay ahead of the curve when it comes to following the rules.
So, let's get real – it's absolutely crucial for businesses to “dot their i's and cross their t's”, doing their homework and sticking to the playbook when it comes to regulations.
💯 with integrity and transparency, no shortcuts allowed as we navigate through this wild regulatory ride.
Let's stay fierce and totally committed to rocking compliance excellence in the face of whatever challenges come our way !
