Here’s the truth: as a patient, you’re expected to remember everything you’ve just discussed with your doctor, and you never end up with a printout of what was said. 👇

Advoca records your appointment and summarises it in easy-to-understand language. Send the summary to your email so you never lose it, and share what you want with your family.

Free to use. Comment ‘Advoca’ and I’ll send you the link.

Nobody’s talking about how hard it is to get your story across in a ten-minute doctor’s appointment. 👇

1️⃣ Lead with your number one concern
2️⃣ Have your symptoms written down, and how they affect your life
3️⃣ Have your background ready: what you’ve tried, your meds, the plan from last time

I made a free prep sheet that walks you through it. Comment PREP and I’ll send it to you.

This may surprise you, but in England, you have a legal right that could get you care quicker. 👇

If you’ve been referred for non-urgent, consultant-led treatment, you have a right to start within 18 weeks.

If your wait will be longer, ask your hospital or ICB for an alternative provider that can see you sooner, including some private hospitals that provide NHS care. They must take all reasonable steps to offer one.

You need this now if a doctor has ever put your symptoms down to stress. 👇

Sometimes stress really is the cause. But physical symptoms are sometimes wrongly put down to psychological causes.

Chat to Advoca about how you’re doing each day, and it builds up the trends in your symptoms and how they affect your life. That gives you the data to get to the truth with your doctor.

Free to use. Comment ‘AdvocaNow’ and I’ll send you the link!

You might not agree with this, but I don’t think you should walk into an appointment without a written plan. 👇

A plan helps the things that matter most to you get heard in short appointments:
1️⃣ Your number one worry
2️⃣ Your symptoms, when they started, and how they affect your life
3️⃣ What you’ve already tried

I made a free worksheet to help you plan. Comment PREP and I’ll send it over to you!

This may surprise you, but the government almost got rid of the main patient advocacy board in the NHS. 👇

It was going to abolish Healthwatch, the independent patient champion in England, but has now U-turned and will keep and strengthen it.

In times of uncertainty, it’s important to be able to advocate well for yourself. Advoca helps you keep and understand all of your health information in one place.

If you or a loved one got unwell, would you be ready to go to hospital? 👇

Prepare a summary of your health, so you can get key information across quickly if you’re admitted: conditions, previous admissions and surgeries, medications, and allergies.

I made a free summary sheet you can use for yourself or a loved one. Comment SUMMARY and I’ll send it to you.

Most people want to try new treatments, but it’s really hard to bring it up with your doctor. 👇

Advoca’s research agent explains the latest research in plain language, so you can plan for your appointment, know which questions to ask, and have a more informed discussion.

Our lifetime Premium offer ends 1 November. It includes the research agent, advanced symptom tracking, wearable integration, unlimited chat, and everything we add in future.

If you’re worried you or someone you love is getting worse in hospital, you have a right to ask for help. 👇

It’s called Martha’s Rule. If you’re worried about a patient getting worse, and you don’t feel your concerns are being heard, you can ask for a rapid review by a different clinical team.

It can be activated by the patient, a member of staff, or a family member!
