As Disability Pride Month comes to a close, the commitment to inclusion must continue all year round.

Every child and young person has the right to be heard, understood and included.

At Mind of My Own, we are proud to support young people to express what matters to them, in a way that works for them.

Let's keep listening, learning and removing barriers💜

With the Families First reforms, services will need to show how children's voices have influenced decisions - not just say they listen.

Here's how Mind Of My Own helps create the evidence to back it up📢

The Children's Wellbeing and Schools Act is now law📢

It places a clear expectation on schools to listen to children, understand what matters to them and act on what they say.

A powerful step forward... but for many practitioners, the next question is how.

We know young people want to share their views. The challenge is creating the time, space and methods that make it easy and meaningful for them to do so - then evidencing that voice in a way that informs decisions and demonstrates impact.

At Mind Of My Own, we believe children's voices should shape the support they receive every day.
Not just when it is convenient, but as part of how decisions are made.

The new Act gives us a chance to strengthen that commitment and build services that truly reflect the experiences and priorities of children.
How is your organisation thinking about capturing and acting on the voice of the child?

Being a carer means showing up every day, often without recognition.

A big thank you this week to the carers that are making a difference in the lives of children and young people.

Happy pride month!🌈

This pride month, we celebrate love, authenticity and the courage to be unapologetically yourself.
We believe every person deserves to feel heard, valued and accepted for who they are.

This month, and every month, we stand with the LGBTQ+ community and celebrate the diversity that makes our communities stronger!

Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder that behind every message, meeting and task is a real person.

It’s easy to focus on caseloads, day-to-day meetings and forget to check in with ourselves and the people around us. Sometimes, a simple conversation or taking a moment to really listen can make more difference than we realise.

This week is about encouraging open conversations, supporting one another and creating spaces where people feel heard.

Let’s talk. Let’s listen. Let’s support. 💜

It's Deaf Awareness Week... and for some people, feeling understood isn't always easy. It can take a lot more, every single day.

Just a small reminder to slow down a little, be a bit more patient, and a bit more aware- whatever that looks like for the person in front of you💜

Every voice deserves to be heard📢

For young people, being heard can mean feeling understood and part of the decisions that affect them, and on this day, we remember how important that is.

We're here to help make sure those voices aren't missed, and that they are recognised and acted on.

Today, make space for a young person to speak and take an extra five minutes to really listen.
