More than 1,100 years ago, one woman made a decision that changed the future of education 📚🌍

In 859 CE, Fatima al-Fihriya used her inheritance to establish Al-Qarawiyyin in Fez, Morocco - an institution recognised as the oldest continuously operating university in the world.

What began as a mosque and centre of learning soon attracted scholars from across regions who came to study theology, mathematics, astronomy, and language.

Her vision created a place where knowledge could be shared and preserved for generations. More than a millennium later, Al-Qarawiyyin still stands as a symbol of the lasting power of education.
