Scammers doing the rounds again. Just had a call from Cyber Security saying they could see faults on my fiber line.
Once again, no one official will ever call you re your PC or connection. Put the phone down or send them away with a flea in their ear like I did.

Is your laptop getting hot, the fan always running and sounding like a garden strimmer? Maybe time for a good clean and MOT. This Lenovo was running hot and very noisy. Stripped and cleaned, the fan is quiet and laptop running cooler.

Had a job replacing a faulty screen on an ASUS 14" Vivobook. Instead of a couple of tiny screws holding the screen in place, the screen was glued in place with 2 large adhesive strips requiring a hairdryer to soften the glue. Enough heat to soften the glue but not too much as to warp the thin plastic laptop cover.

I was convinced that the ribbon cable connection was at fault as the screen was operational but had a pink tinge. I had no way of removing screen without damaging the original. I could have potentially saved customer the cost of a new screen but that doesn't make the manufacturers any money. Poor show ASUS.

There seems to be a lot of adverts on Facebook for a USB pen drive that fixes everything if you plug it into your computer. This is a lie as there is never a "one size fits all" solution to PC problems. Save yourself £25 and make your own rescue disk or USB drive free from the link below.

Create it before you have any issues! They even provide instructions.

Struggled opening a 2011 iMac to replace a faulty optical disk drive fan. With all the neodymium magnets and tiny ribbon cables, it was a challenge. It's as if Apple want to make life as hard as possible to repair it yourself.

An Acer netbook I'm setting up has the thinnest charging connector I've seen so far. If you forget that the charger is connected and move the netbook, it will snap so easily! If Netbooks are geared towards people "on the go" then don't make the charging adapter as thin as this.

Repairing a Lenovo all in one PC and after removing the stand and sliding two connectors, the case was open. No hidden screws, so quick and easy.
