Minimal Stock of Memory and High Capacity Hard Drives..
Need new hardware? Maybe think about purchasing as soon as possible.
We are all aware of the increase in the price of memory as supplies cannot meet with demand.
However this situation has had an adverse effect on the price and availability of storage drives now. The start of 2026 has seen a shortage of high capacity drives, 12Tb and upwards, with price increases of over 50% in some cases; expect delays in availbility in the supply chain and ever increasing prices as the year progresses
Why?, simply put.....AI is to blame.
Root Cause: The explosion of AI data center construction is consuming the majority of NAND and DRAM supply. Manufacturers are reallocating production lines from consumer-grade storage to high-margin AI components.
