Just a few things from the past few months that we think are kinda chic

Number 1 - supporting you local pubs

When people are surveyed about what they want to see more of it’s often the need for 3rd spaces.

This used to be your local pubs- but if we don’t support them they cannot keep going.

One of the most rewarding parts working in the AV industry is seeing how these space can be transformed with technology.

Training for a charity bike ride.

Since the team decided to take part in the Together For Cinema charity bike ride the office has been transformed into a bike repair shop.

Spare wheels in Joe’s office and shoe repairs replace Chris’s keyboard.

Recently our MD was send XNTDs in hand to deliver on site to a Marquee AV project.

The football might be over but that hasn’t stopped our desire to consume all TV in pubs.

It’s been a mega year for ProofVision TVs with the multiple heatwaves we have been experiencing.

We finally completed the new OneAV brochures.

A reminder to take pride in the small wins. Completing a brochure might seem small but seeing someone go from sketches to final product is incredibly gratifying!

Smart blinds are an area we are seeing a lot of growth in. Due to rising energy costs, hotter days and easier setup. Quality blinds have become more and more common place.

One of the biggest misconceptions we find when it comes to the conversation around smart blinds is that they are difficult to install.

Well if you can install a TV then you can definitely install a blind. It’s no more difficult than what you are already doing. But it might be a lot more profitable!

However if you are still nervous do not worry we can hold your hand throughout the whole process.

Time to reflect.

Now that the World Cup has come to an end (sorry to remind everyone) we want to reflect on how the summer of sport has not only impacted you but us as well.

By no means are we saying the summer is over, the aircon wars in the office are still raging on and we see many more sweaty days on the horizon.

But the summer of football has been fascinating to watch from the inside of the AV industry. It’s especially close to our heart as our MD is himself a venue owner, and can often be found pulling pints on a busy night.

I am not sure we have properly seen the impact on what we do on small venue owners so clearly until this year. Record number of outdoor TVs (thanks ProofVision ), and some of the best food we have ever had on site.

Meeting the pub landlords that can finally fill their pubs on a random weekday night because a very talented person installed a new TV, improved their sound systems or helped them control it all with HDA + uControl™ has been a total joy. All using OneAV as their distributer.

With the news of Mr Burnham’s 20% cut to the business rates of pubs, clubs and live music venues, looking to save the ‘typical pub’ £1,100 in the next financial year. There should be many more summers like this to come.

I know we still have a lot more summer and sport to go, with the Common Wealth Games starting this week! Not to get to emotional, but this is just a post to say thank you to every installer, pub owner and venue operator for making this our best summer yet.

Is our MD better than yours?

After poking fun at our MD Chris for his current love of lycra in the last post I must now readdress the balance and point out something good he has done.

Last week one of our installers, Marquee AV , were in a bit of a pickle and needed extra kit for a pub AV install opening in Birmingham that day. You know when you have done all the prep possible and get to site and have one of the terrible realisations that something is missing.

No this isn’t an anxiety dream, it can really happen.

So Chris swapped his bike for the train and walked across the city to hand deliver this bag of XTNDs by HDA - no drama. If you ever find yourself on site without the equipment you need just give us a call. I cannot promise Chris will turn it up on site but it’s always a possibility.

The XTND 2K (150) is built for situations where a video source needs to be viewed a very long distance away, far beyond the limits of a standard HDMI cable. Faster and more reliable than running thick HDMI leads, it converts the signal to travel over a single Cat6 cable, which is easier to route through walls, ceilings, and underground ducts.

Same day delivery is easy when you have an MD on hand.

This post was approved by all the men ‘not’ having a midlife crisis in the office before posting.

We are so happy to announce OneAV (UK) and our friends at HDA + uControl™ have joined forces for a great cause.

, Dillan Pattni & Justin Fothergill will all be cycling from Clapham Common to ride the 55 miles to the Brighton seafront along with 50+ other cyclists from the Audio Visual industry.

This is all in aid of Together For Cinema . Together For Cinema CIC is a Community Interest Company whose main focus is to work with the Audio Visual (AV) industry to design and install home cinema rooms in children’s hospices and other deserving family care locations across the UK. These rooms not only benefit the children and young adults, but also their families, carers, staff and volunteers.

We need the support of our industry, and those associated with our industry, to help us continue to make a difference. A difference that brings the magic of home cinema into a care venue that then allows any eventuality to be taken care of in an instant, whilst at the same time allowing a family to relax and spend time together without any concerns.
