"Staff only. Not in use." 🔒🚻
While waiting for a coffee in a packed Manchester café recently, I spotted this sign on the restroom door. As a paying customer, it felt frustrating. But as the founder of TAL Services, it highlighted an open secret facing the UK's 8 million mobile workers: The Phantom Facility.

How many times have you walked into a café, petrol station, or supermarket on a shift, only to find a locked door or a "broken" sign?

Read my latest blog where I break down why high street restrooms are locked, and drop a comment with the worst "Out of Order" excuse you’ve seen on the road. 👇

"Want More Women in Construction? Start by Fixing the Facilities."
A deeply concerning statistic was reported this week by Construction News: more than six in 10 women working in construction deliberately avoid drinking fluids just to reduce their need to use site toilets.

According to a recent survey of 633 workers conducted for the ‘Release the Bogs’ campaign, the dismal state of site welfare facilities is forcing female professionals to compromise their hydration, health, and basic dignity.

In a sector actively working to attract and retain more women, this is a barrier that simply cannot be ignored. Dehydration on site is a serious health and safety risk, and employers have a strict duty of care to provide adequate, clean, and safe facilities for all staff.

This is exactly where TAL Services bridges the gap.

We believe no worker should have to compromise their health to do their job. By connecting field-based teams with a vetted network of welcoming local independent venues, we ensure your workforce always has access to clean, safe toilets and a place to wash their hands.

It is time to raise the standard of worker welfare across the board.

"Will joining the TAL Services network disrupt my regular customers or mean extra cleaning for my staff?" 🤔
It is the most common question we hear from independent café and pub owners, and it is a perfectly valid concern. Your margins are tight, and your team works incredibly hard.

That is why the TAL platform was designed to protect and respect our partner venues just as much as the mobile workers who use them.

If you are considering opening your doors to the UK's mobile workforce, here is how we ensure a seamless experience for your business:

🔹 No Crowds: We have measures in place to prevent your venue from being overwhelmed, capping visits to prevent more than 12 check-ins a day. 🔹 Accountable Professionals: We only partner with employers who vet their staff. These are lone workers and engineers who know they must treat your space with complete respect.
🔹 Zero Extra Admin: Your staff do not need to learn a complicated new system. When a worker checks in on the app, you simply receive an automated email. That is it.
🔹 Passive Income: Two-thirds of the check-in fee, which is paid by the employer, goes straight to you. This provides a reliable revenue stream to help offset rising utility bills and business rates.

You have the facilities, and the mobile workforce needs a dignified place to rest.

The mobile worker welfare dilemma is solvable. It just takes the right connections.
For too long, the industry has accepted that being out on the road means compromising on basic dignity and statutory safety. At TAL Services, we are changing the narrative by bridging the gap between corporate duty of care and the local high street.

Our platform ensures that wherever a mobile worker is deployed, they are never more than 10 minutes away from a vetted, welcoming Partner Venue.

✳️ Employers: Guarantee compliance and protect your staff.
✳️ Venues: Increase daytime footfall and support the community.
✳️ Workers: Access the dignity and rest facilities you deserve.

It is time to bring mobile worker welfare out of the shadows. Read the full breakdown on our blog and find out how to get involved. 👇

🤔 Are you running a two-tier welfare system without realising it?
If your office staff have guaranteed access to clean, warm facilities, but your mobile field teams are left to rely on failing public infrastructure or Coffee Shop and Cafe goodwill, your business is exposed to a hidden compliance crisis.

Under the Workplace Regulations 1992, providing access to basic welfare is a strict statutory duty, regardless of whether your team is in a corporate headquarters or out on a rural delivery route. Relying on "public loos" is no longer a legally defensible strategy.

Discover how the TAL Services network is helping forward-thinking employers eliminate this compliance gap and protect their teams on the road. 👇

Did you know that England has lost 14% of its public facilities since 2016?
According to the British Safety Council, we now have massive "public toilet deserts"—meaning there is only one public toilet for every 15,481 people.

For the 8 million mobile and lone workers out on the roads keeping the UK moving, this isn't just an inconvenience. It’s a health, safety, and dignity crisis. Combined with the cost-of-living crisis, workers shouldn't have to choose between their biological needs and buying an expensive coffee they didn't want just to use the facilities guilt-free.

Independent pubs, cafés, and community hubs hold the key to fixing this. Read our latest blog on how local venues can step up, support the workforce, and become the heroes of the high street. 👇
