Extremely proud of Town's management and creative stewardship of the new brand launch for our excellent client Boddington's, known across the South West for supplying the cream of the Cornish Strawberry crop and as purveyors of the finest (and they really are the finest....) Conserves, Relishes and Chutneys.

Town was briefed to create the new Boddington's.uk brand for the preserves side of their business. Great to be able give such a fabulous brief to our brand designers & packaging design team. The labels are things of beauty and work we're really proud of. Most importantly, we're really glad to say the Boddington's team agree. The new www.boddingtons.uk website we've designed went live this week and we have been involved with the design of the rebranded marketing collateral in its entirety.

Thanks to the Boddington's team for their trust in us and to our whole Town team. A truly impactful, integrated marketing launch for a dynamic growing business. Now please go and buy some of these delicious products online!

Happy New Year! 😁

One thing we spend a lot of time doing for new Clients - often before we start any marketing support work with them - is sorting out their website basics, whether or not we are about to improve their site or build them a new one.

A healthy website is a lovely thing. Here are three areas to sense-check, for your fighting-fit 2024 website.

1. Is your website high-performance? It needs to be fast, especially if you have an eCommerce site. Nothing puts customers off more than slow load speeds. Both the way the site is built and the way it is hosted will affect performance, so may wish check your hosting package is (and make sure you are not paying too much, or too little - both are problematic) especially if you have not considered this for a while.

You need fast, secure hosting - the right package for your site's functionality and monthly visitors - with regular automated backups in place.

There are amazing new hosting products coming online all the time so a regular review, especially if you have added a lot of heavy usage content to your site in the last year or two (video, big, energy-sapping plug-ins etc.), is a great idea.

2. Are you properly set up with Google Analytics and Search Console and paying attention to what these are telling you? It's well worth it. You need to be able to see how visitors to your site are behaving and to make adjustments accordingly.

3. Is your content up to date? It is so easy to leave things like this on a website: 'In 2021 we will introduce our new packaging...' - which is fine in a blog where people expect to see historical posts, but not so great on an 'About Us' page.

Top tip: update your copyright date to 2024. It makes you look up to date and yes, people DO look at your footer as it's usually a mine of information. There is automation available for this so it happens at 00:00 on 1st each year.

Thinking about Facebook Ads? Here are the 4 things that you have to think about to optimise your budget!

1. Target audience - think about WHO you want to attract and create your own customer avatar. Go into detail on what your ideal customer enjoys, where they spend their time online and other aspects including their gender, age, interests & location.

2. The objective - what is the point of your campaign? Are you looking to gain website traffic, track conversion, generate leads? You need to make this decision before starting your first campaign so you can set up your ad sets for success.

3. The journey - decide what journey you want your lead to go on. Where will you send them? What will be their next step? How will you contact them? When will they convert into a paying customer?

4. Media & copy - create and write a variety of media and copy variations. Mix-up your individual ads to see which versions work better. Think about including videos, images, long and short copy - see what works best for your target audience.

Facebook ads can be a complex task! So make sure you're clued up before wasting your budget on a campaign that you didn't plan!
