The upcoming 2026/27 season going to be a special one at The Greenyards as Melrose Rugby Club celebrate 150 years!

pmgd has been proudly working with the club to create a new visual branding for the club’s 150th Anniversary season. With such a rich history and marvelous rugby heritage, it’s been a fabulous project to work on. Looking back at old cotton playing jerseys from the 1960 and 70s eras, an embroidered vintage Rose emblem was identified and re-drawn, forming the main element of the commemorative logo. The logo kit contains various settings of the Rose icon - for use on it’s own, set with large ‘150’ numerals, and also set within a classic shield, creating a patch-style badge for playing jerseys and merch.
A separate ‘Melrose Rugby 150’ wordmark, with the dates 1877 - 2027, was created for use in conjunction with the Rose and shield, and introduces a classic serif typeface. Adding further to the traditional styling, some new colours have been introduced to the palette alongside the famous black and yellow - a celebratory gold, a vintage green bringing back the petals of the rose and a vibrant accent purple - a reference from the legendary away kits from the 90s.

Application of the logo and styling will roll out across various materials including new season kit plus digital and printed promotional materials. Look out for the fixture list signs and social slides featuring a collage of some of the famous players to have worm teh black and yellow from over the years.

Stay tuned with the Melrose Rugby socials for further announcements.

pmgd has once again worked with the team at South of Scotland Enterprise to design their Operating Plan for 2026/27. The Plan sets out how South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) intend to make a difference through working in partnership with the people, businesses and communities of the South, and beyond. Working with SOSE, pmgd created the A4 landscape 28 page document which includes various branded infographics to support the content.

You can view it via the SOSE website:

Scotland may have lost out to Brazil last night, but at least this beauty of a t-shirt happened due to the match-up between the two sides… absolutely love the GTA Miami inspired design from Tap Tier
