⚠️ One of the simplest jobs on a diesel... until it isn’t.

This Mini came in for glow plug replacement.

Sounds straightforward, right?

Unfortunately two glow plugs snapped, leaving parts of them stuck inside the cylinder head 😬

What should have been a routine maintenance job quickly turned into a recovery mission involving modified tools, injector removal, and carefully retrieving the broken pieces from inside the engine.

**Tip:** If you’re replacing glow plugs at home, don’t underestimate the job. A seized or snapped glow plug can turn a one hour job into a very expensive repair.

This is one of those BMW issues that looks small at first, but can quickly get expensive. This F10 came in with a moisture filled headlight, and once water gets inside, it’s not just the headlight you have to worry about — it can start taking out modules too.

A bit of condensation in your BMW headlight can turn into this. Water got inside this F10 headlight and ended up burning out the control unit, which now means the repair is a lot more expensive than it could’ve been if caught earlier. If you’ve got moisture sitting inside your headlight, don’t ignore it.
