After three and a half years in business, I’m closing Computer Help NI this week. This venture has been thoroughly enjoyable and a constant learning experience, but it hasn’t generated much revenue. Therefore, when I received an excellent job offer, I accepted.

I appreciate that good computer help can be difficult to find, so I’d like to make the following recommendations:

For home customers, I recommend David McAlinden of Respawn Repairs. David provides excellent on-site support for computers and mobile devices and operates the same “no fix, no fee” policy that my customers are accustomed to.

We'll be volunteering at the South Down Repair Café on Saturday the 18th of June from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Newcastle Community Cinema. More information below.

Our Repair Cafe is back - after our inaugural cafe away back in February 2020, our second Repair Cafe is taking place in Newcastle Community Cinema from 1pm - 5pm on Saturday 18 June as part of a whole host of events and activities on climate change and the environment taking place that weekend.

How it works:

you bring along the item that needs repaired and we book you in, you wait with the item and have some tea and cake - connecting with other people there,

one of our fixers takes a look at your item and where possible repairs it.

you go home happy and think about how repairing things makes them last longer, saves money, prevents landfill and waste and helps the environment
