Did you know that Cyber Essentials is now required for Further Education institutions? 🙇‍♂️

For the 2024 to 2025 funding year, the Department for Education (DfE) is changing the requirements regarding IT security for colleges and special post-16 institutions ( ).

Colleges and SPIs will now be required to achieve Cyber Essentials during the 2024 to 2025 funding year. This means you may need to take action this upcoming academic year to introduce the certification ‼️

📣 The latest ESFA Academy trust Handbook just released 📣

The Academy trust handbook's updates include important updates for cyber security within your trusts, including:
💥 Trusts should take appropriate action to meet Department for Education’s standards, which were developed to help them improve their resilience against .
💥 Over the next academic year, trusts with annual revenue over £50 million will be expected to “deliver internal scrutiny” by using an in-house auditor or buying in such services. By September 1, 2025, they will be mandated to have these measures in place.

These updates are likely to require adjustments for you to stay compliant. offers products and services to help meet these new standards and support internal cyber security audits.
