Recent GPU Repair 🔧

This graphics card came in with an unusual fault. On inspection under the microscope, we found that a small SMD capacitor had been knocked clean off the PCB.

Unfortunately, it hadn’t just taken the capacitor with it — the impact had also ripped away part of the copper trace, leaving the circuit open.

✅ Damaged area cleaned and prepared
✅ Replacement capacitor fitted
✅ Broken trace reconstructed with a micro-jumper wire
✅ Protective solder mask applied to restore insulation and durability

The repair was then inspected under magnification and tested to ensure the circuit was functioning correctly again.

Not every faulty graphics card needs replacing. Many board-level faults can be repaired, saving the customer the cost of a replacement card.

🎮 Recent Gaming PC Repair

A customer brought in this gaming PC reporting that it wouldn’t boot.

Initial testing showed the system would only start when RAM was installed in slots B1 or B2. This immediately pointed us towards a fault affecting one of the memory channels.

The culprit? A bent pin in the CPU socket.

Modern Intel CPUs rely on hundreds of tiny pins in the socket to communicate with components such as the RAM. If even a single pin is bent, it can cause all sorts of strange faults, including memory slots not working correctly.

If you look closely at the photos, you can spot the damaged pin. After carefully straightening it, the motherboard was able to detect RAM in all slots again and the system returned to normal operation.

Sometimes the smallest faults can cause the biggest headaches! 🔧💻

Full housing swap carried out, along with replacing with new and refitting the components that were still useable— bringing it right back to life.

Charger port cleans… because sometimes it’s best left to the pros 🔧

Here we’ve got an iPhone port and a micro-USB port… or what’s left of it 😅(as you can see the pins going in all directions)

Over time (usually every 6–12 months depending on your environment), ports build up with all sorts — dust, dirt, wood shavings, hay, glitter… and yeah, even the odd bit of the Mary Jane 👀

We charge £15 for a full port clean, which helps your charger make a proper connection again — no more wobbly chargers or having to bend the cable at a weird angle just to get it to charge.

A lot of people think the port needs replacing (which can cost £60–£120), but most of the time it just needs a proper clean. We use a microscope and precision tools to safely clear everything out without damaging the pins.

No fix, no fee — if there’s nothing to clean or the port is actually faulty, you won’t be charged 👍

It can be done at home if you’ve got the right tools and a steady hand… but be careful. These ports are super tiny and delicate — one slip and you could turn a simple clean into a full replacement (we see it all the time!).
