🚨 UK Small Business Owners & Website Owners – Quick heads-up! 🚨

There is a major update to UK data protection rules coming into effect next week on Friday, 19th June 2026, and it directly affects your website’s Privacy Policy.

The ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) is launching new guidelines regarding how customer data complaints are handled. The good news? It actually protects you!

Under the new rules, if a customer or website visitor has a complaint about how you handle their data, they are now legally required to try and resolve it with you directly before they can escalate it to the ICO.

The catch? To benefit from this protection, your website's Privacy Policy must explicitly state this process, include your response timelines, and give clear contact details.

If your website's policy hasn't been touched in a few years (or if it predates modern GDPR rules entirely!), you won't be compliant come next Friday.

I’ve been helping another Jo get her booking system, class schedule, memberships and payments all set up on her Wix website, and it’s been such a good project to work on.

We’ve definitely had to stay flexible and work through a few things along the way, but that’s often how these kinds of systems go 😄

I’m excited to finally share a project I completed a little while ago — the website for Thelittleyogacompany run by the amazing Sarah in Northampton.

Sarah’s mission is truly inspiring: she offers children’s yoga that goes beyond just movement. Her classes blend yoga, mindfulness, storytelling, drawing, journaling — creating a safe, nurturing space where little minds can feel calm, confident, and free to express themselves. She also offers private one-to-one lessons tailored to individual needs, making her approach even more special.

When Sarah came to me last year, she needed a website that reflected this beautiful ethos and helped parents and schools easily find the perfect class or session. I built a site that’s calm, colourful, and super user-friendly, featuring:

✅ Clear class types — from toddlers to teens, families, and private lessons
✅ An easy-to-navigate timetable and prices
✅ Dedicated pages for schools and nurseries offering yoga breakfast clubs and after-school sessions
✅ About page including the benefits of yoga for children

What I love most is how the site truly captures Sarah’s warmth and care, making it easy for families to connect with her.

It’s been a little while since I finished this website (I’m definitely better at designing websites than posting about them on social media 😅), but I couldn’t miss the chance to share the website I built for Martial Arts - Milton Keynes led by the brilliant Master Tino Cesar.

From the start, it was clear that this was more than just a martial arts school. It’s a place where people are encouraged to live fully, love what they do, laugh together, and never stop learning. The new website was designed to reflect those values throughout every page.

The old platform wasn’t working for Tino. It was packed with features he didn’t use, and the rising costs made it unsustainable. We stripped it back, kept what matters, and gave him full control—he can now manage most updates himself, with me stepping in for bigger changes as needed.
