Graphologi 3.7 is out, with a wide range of improvements across the application for governance, export/import, search and more.

The new validation feature allows users to validate an entire taxonomy or dataset against templates (SHACL shapes). This enhances the already extensive capabilities that include built-in integrity rules, template constraint checking, quality checks and reports.

In Data Manager it is now possible to select another dataset as the constraint for a relationship in a template, making it easy to restrict the possible values when entering data.

Quality checks have an improved look. It is now also possible to disable individual quality checks and to stop checks running before completion. There is also an additional taxonomy quality check for mapping relation integrity.

It is now possible to manage ontology classes and properties through the API.

There are numerous improvements to spreadsheet import and export. You can now export references as labels (within a project), rather than the default of using IRIs. When importing, cross-references to concepts in other taxonomies will now match where SKOS-XL is being used. Also, for import, you can now map the related, close and exact match properties.

In advanced search you can now filter on the related and broader properties for taxonomies. There have also been more performance improvements for advanced search.

In bulk edit the remove and remove all operations can now be used on functional properties and properties with a range of a boolean.

We have also made further accessibility improvements.

The first Graphologi release of 2026 is now out. Graphologi 3.6 brings a wide range of improvements, with support for right-to-left text, improvements for accessibility, and performance enhancements.

We continually push to improve the performance of Graphologi. It was already possible to manage very large taxonomies and ontologies. With this release support for taxonomies that run into millions of concepts and SKOS-XL labels is improved even further. Quality checks and statistics reporting have been enhanced and resource loading is significantly faster for ontologies, datasets and taxonomies, even more so where SKOS-XL is being used.

With this release we now support right-to-left text for relevant languages, providing more appropriate input and display for those languages.

From an accessibility perspective there is now also much better support for keyboard control and focus highlighting, along with additional shortcut keys and numerous other improvements.

For managing taxonomies, there is the ability to add SKOS notes (definitions, examples, history notes, etc.) using resources rather than just text (strings), which allows for notes to be chronologically ordered for display based on when they were added. This can make for a more intuitive understanding of notes.

Additionally, there is now also the ability to merge one concept onto another.

Graphologi 3.5 has been released providing improvements to governance through enhanced suggestion capabilities.

Suggestions have been a feature since the very early days of Graphologi, geared at providing subject matter experts and taxonomists an easy way to contribute to the management of taxonomies.

With 3.5 there are big updates to suggestions, including new types for alternative and preferred label suggestions, improvements to the user experience for management of suggestions and closer integration with workflow. Additionally, suggestions now display inline when viewing concepts making it really easy to see what has been suggested and to action those suggestions.

The new suggestion types for alternative and preferred labels are also available through the API, allowing for other systems, including AI processes, to create them.

Graphologi 3.4 is now available, adding improvements for governance processes.

Workflow has been added to the Ontology Manager, allowing additional control over the creation and management of ontologies. The capabilities match those for taxonomies and datasets, providing a consistent user experience across Graphologi.

Additional notification capabilities have been added for workflow, making it easier to inform users that they have something they need to look at.

Also, there have been improvements to the Jobs Manager to provide better statistics about the work that needs doing.

Graphologi 3.3 is now available and features huge updates to ontology management.

The main focus for this release is full support for FIBO (The Financial Industry Business Ontology). FIBO is a large, modular ontology, widely used across the finance domain.

The capabilities of the Ontology Manager now include support for owl:import, custom datatypes, the ability to use custom properties (templates) on named individuals and a host of other improvements.

Graphologi supports the biggest, most complex, ontologies. As well as FIBO, OBO ontologies are also supported, which are widely used in life sciences. Ontology management is complemented by the taxonomy and data management capabilities, to provide complete knowledge graph management.

Graphologi does all this whilst providing comprehensive collaboration between users, with real time updates happening across the application. That means that teams can easily work together without getting in each other’s way.

If you would like to know more please get in touch.

Graphologi 3.2 has been released and includes enhancements to reporting, spreadsheet import and more.

Custom reports in Graphologi are a popular feature with our customers, allowing users to query their data using SPARQL, which gives great flexibility to ask complex questions.

With this release it is now possible to ‘parameterise’ custom reports, so that users can feed values into the report. These values can, if wanted, be controlled, so that, for instance, a particular input might need to be a concept from a particular taxonomy, a class from an ontology, a date, or an integer value, etc. This makes reports far more powerful.

Custom reports work using saved queries and the new parameter based features can also be used in API calls to execute those queries.

Also in this release we have added the ability to merge spreadsheet data onto taxonomies using the IRIs for concepts. This makes it incredibly easy to add data to existing concepts.

When using ontologies with taxonomies or datasets users can now also use multiline text for strings, which complements the existing ability to use markdown, HTML and other formats.

The latest update to Graphologi is out. Graphologi 3.1 brings improvements to spreadsheet exports, improvements to handling a mix of languages and additional navigation aids.

Spreadsheet import and export are how many customers get data into and out of Graphologi. In this release it is now possible to export a taxonomy subtree as a spreadsheet. We recently introduced custom sorting for taxonomies in the user interface and it is now also possible to use that same custom sorting in spreadsheet export.

It is not uncommon, especially in ontologies, for there to be a mix of languages across imported files, e.g. English, American English and possibly ‘no language’. We have improved the logic for displaying labels where sublanguages are used in combination with main languages, such as English, which is ‘en’ and American English, which is ‘en-us’ in language code terms.

Graphologi already offers many ways to navigate around the application and the data within it. In this release we have added an additional option - quick links - which allows a user to instantly jump between the Vocabulary Manager, Ontology Manager and Data Manager, retaining the context of the last resource they were viewing in that part of the application.

In addition, the ‘find by IRI’ feature has been improved and is now available in Ontology Manager and Data Manager too.

Graphologi 3.0 is now available. This release has major enhancements to the ontology manager, along with improved quality checks and performance boosts.

A message we hear repeatedly is that ontologists want more tooling options for complex ontologies. Graphologi has always supported OWL ontologies and with this latest release we now extend that support significantly. The list of new features includes:

• Restrictions
• Complex class and property expressions
• Named individuals
• Disjoint union of, property disjoint with and equivalent property
• Punning
• Additional datatypes are now understood

We know that not everybody needs this level of sophistication so the advanced features display can be toggled on or off. Further, to aid use of restrictions and complex expressions, the user is presented with a ‘builder’ type experience to help guide them on possible options.

We have added a large number of additional quality checks on the ontology side to aid with validation of ontologies, as well as improving the display and giving hints on how to rectify issues.

Of course, all of these enhancements work with Graphologi’s real time collaboration capabilities meaning that a team can easily be working close by each other on ontologies.

On the taxonomy side disjoint properties are now understood.

For spreadsheet export we have made huge performance improvements.

All of these new features are available in all versions of Graphologi and across all subscriptions.

This is one of the biggest updates to Graphologi since its launch and we are very keen to get your feedback on it.

The next release of EasyGraph (1.0.16) is now available with enhanced AI capabilities that can be used to easily create visualisations.

You can now enter a search query in natural language and, using AI, results can be rendered as a visualisation. It is also possible to give further instructions to refine the generated visualisation, or you can give instructions to generate a different type of visualisation. With the instruction history feature it is very easy to undo/redo any changes.

There is now also an option to render property values as HTML, images, SVG, clickable URLs, MathML, Markdown or Mermaid diagrams.
