In this video, I talk about AI search, SEO, and why I think businesses should take a balanced approach rather than panic.
There’s a huge amount of noise around AI at the moment, especially within the SEO world.
But the reality is, traditional search engines like Google still account for the vast majority of online searches. AI search is growing, but it’s still a very small percentage overall.
I think some of the fear around AI is being driven by fear based selling.
That doesn’t mean businesses should ignore it. It just means there’s no need to become overly worried or convinced that everything has suddenly changed overnight.
A lot depends on your audience.
Some audiences, particularly entrepreneurial or tech focused users, may use AI tools more frequently. But if someone needs a local plumber, electrician, or accountant, many people are still simply going to Google and searching in the traditional way.
I also talk about how AI search still has limitations.
If you ask AI for something like “the best accountant in Nottingham”, a lot of the results are often very similar to what you’d already find through Google, and sometimes the answers can still be quite frustrating or inconsistent.
The important thing right now is awareness, not panic.
Businesses should:
🔸 Keep their websites technically strong
🔸 Continue focusing on good SEO
🔸 Make sure content is accurate and structured properly
🔸 Stay informed as AI develops
The fundamentals still matter.
