RALEIGH UK 🚴🚲🚴‍♀️

Comfinity recently completed the installation of an Excel Category 6 B2ca compliant structured cabling system for Raleigh UK Ltd at the historic Durban House situated in Eastwood, Nottingham.

Built in 1896, Durban House has taken on many roles from being originally established as The Barber Walker mining company and once being the wages offices for Brinsley Colliery from where D.H. Lawrence’s father worked to having a full renovation in 1998 where it was turned into a mining museum and heritage centre.

After standing derelict for several years, in May 2024, the building has undergone a full refurbishment throughout and is now the new Head Office for the well-known bicycle manufacturer Raleigh.

It was a challenging but highly rewarding project, involving installing cables through dot-and-dab walls and bespoke drilling through concrete walls and floors with minimal damage to finished decorated areas.

Through working closely with the IT Manager, Comfinity installed a full Excel Networking Solutions Category 6 UTP B2ca structured copper cabling system with a 42U 800x1000 floor-standing communications cabinet. All are supported by a 25-year manufacturer warranty from Excel.

💥 EXCITING NEWS! 👀

We are grateful to have been awarded the structured cabling package for the new Nottingham College SLDD+CSC schemes by electrical contractor, Morecroft Electrical Ltd.

Morecrofts secured both projects from Derby-based construction company G F Tomlinson.

Comfinity will be installing over 500+ Category 6A outlets and OM4 fibre optic backbone through the two buildings”

Both projects are set to commence in early July 2024.

After what has been our biggest year so far, we are all excited to wind down and reflect on what we've achieved.

We would like to wish all our suppliers and customers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Our offices will be closed from Friday, 22nd December 2023 at 5pm and will re-open on Wednesday, 3rd January 2024 at 8.30am.

We look forward to working with you all again in 2024.

Another successful fibre installation! 🛠️⚡✅

Today sees our engineers install an Excel OM4/8 core fibre optic link to connect a new portacabin at a plastic recycling plant in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

Our skill and experience was tested on this job! 🥵🛠️

Here's a few photos of a recent project we completed for a residential customer in Heanor, Derbyshire where we installed 7 x Category 6 data points across three floors.

With this project being a house and having no available cabling routes or existing containment, this project spanned over a number of days where our skill and experience were tested. This involved lifting floorboards and precision drilling through joists, walls and ceilings throughout the house to install cables.

In some areas where routes could not be made, we had to install white plastic trunking although we wanted to be discrete and match the existing décor. To achieve this, we installed the trunking above the skirting board level to keep it “off the eye” and to go unnoticed by the customer.

Today our engineers have installed a new Excel Category 6 cabling system to support the new wireless system at Bleasby CofE Primary School in Nottingham on behalf of Minster Trust for Education.

Our engineers have been busy during the heatwave! ☀️🥵

Comfinity are proud to have been invited by Chesterfield Football Club to install additional Category 6A cables throughout the North, East, South and West stands to support their new till system.

This was a very big moment for us as business since our humble beginnings many years ago. Comfinity look forward to supporting the clubs future requirements and working with the team again.

One of our most favourite projects that we recently completed at the historic Santo's Higham Farm Hotel in Alfreton, Derbyshire.

Due to the age and nature of the building, bespoke cabling routes had to be made which involved drilling through a mixed range of stone and brickwork, including hand-hewn solid sandstone dating back to 1471.

Comfinity installed an Excel Category 6 network cabling system to support the new WiFi requirements to which we mounted 17 Ubiquiti wireless access points throughout the building.

The hotel features 31 individually en-suite rooms, 2 bars including a popular sports bar and an award-winning restaurant that is all prepared in-house to produce exquisite A La Carte and Table d’Hote cuisine.

Works are progressing nicely on-site for one of our most favourable office fit-out partners. Our engineers are currently 3 weeks ahead of schedule and are looking to handover nice and early ready for the customer to move in.
