Emails are becoming a more and more common platform for scamming. Reports show 88% of sent emails in 2017 are scams.

While it is all well and good deleting the email and ignoring it remember that if you do not respond the scammers will just move on to another person who potentially may not be as savvy.

If you encounter an email you do not trust or know is scam, (Learn more at:https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/advice/how-to-spot-an-email-scam) forward the email to "[email protected]". This is an artificially intelligent email bot, made to reply to scam email and waste their time.
