Hello everyone,

I'm off for a walk on the 20th of June 2026 in aid of Cancer Research. It's a full marathon distance. It would be nice if you could find the time to donate any money you can, I'm trying to raise £300.

I will be taking a 2m hand held along the way, just in case I can make some QSO's.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Giving Page. This year I am taking part in Big Hike to help power progress for people affected by cancer. Please donate to my Giving Page and help me take big steps to beat cancer.

Hi all,

We have recently spent some more time on the shop to try to make it a lot easier to find things.

Please have a look and let me know what you think!!! Also, some new antenna parts are there from today as well as updates to existing products.

Hi all,

Ok what did we do today, well I've had a project on the shelf since last October which is a Galvanic isolator for HF (160-10m). With out going into all the boring technical details on the build itself, I'm nearly there. I say nearly because towards 10m it's not great. Anyway, I'll get onto that soon, firstly why should you use one. Enter AI, apologies this is correct and I could not be bothered to type it out.

"In many HF setups, the transceiver, amplifier, and antenna system may have slightly different ground potentials. When these components are connected directly, a "ground loop" forms, allowing unwanted currents (often hum or interference) to travel along the cable shield. A galvanic isolator, typically using an RF transformer, breaks this conductive path in the coaxial cable shield, effectively suppressing this noise, which improves signal reception and lowers the noise floor."

I’ve managed to get the losses from the 1:1 transformer very low from top band to 15m with 12m and 10m being a little lossy. I’ll try to get a video up here soon with one on a antenna with issues.
