Over the last few months I've had a number of new clients coming to me for help with ransomware, hacks, scams and other security breaches.

Security on our devices is becoming an increasing issue and scams are getting more and more sophisticated.

I deal with this kind of thing every day.

My advice is:
* Update passwords regularly
* Keep anti-virus software up to date
* Call me even if you feel something "might" be a scam, but you're not sure. (Prevention is better than cure!)

I was just looking to see the popular tech gifts for this year 2022.
A floating lamp appeared as No,1 in one of the searches I did. This was a bit of a shock as we got this for a family member for Christmas - purely coincidence!
But we bought ours from a British company, with great sustainability credentials and ethos.... can highly recommend their products and their service: https://gingkodesign.com/
They do natural wood bluetooth speakers, radio alarm clocks and much more. Worth a look if you're still searching for the perfect gift for the techie in your family (I'm not on commission!)

Great to do some work for another Perth business this morning!
Alan from Learner Driving Perth does all his admin from his home office.
They were having a number of problems:
💻too far from the exchange to receive fast broadband
💻only had slow connection via copper cable
💻no plans for fibre in that area

So, the only option left to create fast broadband was using the mobile 4 or 5G signal. To utilise this we put up an external antenna and brought this signal into the office, connecting it to a 5G router.
We then used a mesh wifi to distribute the broadband throughout the property.

Alan is overjoyed that he now gets 40+Mbps download speed! (10x faster than what he used to have)

Plus it was a beautiful snowy drive there and back 😃

Back from supporting a client in a stunning rural location who was frustrated with trying to work from home with poor connectivity.

Their broadband was being received via BT via copper wire at 1Mbps.
I installed an external 4G antenna, connected to a 4G router, delivering upwards of 30Mbps broadband to their property and home office.

This enabled them to do away with their BT fixed phone line and have an IP phone system installed instead. A shift in speed and functionality like this is a game changer if you are working from home (or streaming)!

They are delighted and I enjoyed my scenic drive! 😎🚗
