"We don't have 18 months." Most growing businesses don't. It's one of the most common reasons ERP decisions get delayed. But SAP Cloud ERP goes live in weeks, not months, built on preconfigured best practices and proven delivery tooling. The projects that run long are the ones that weren't scoped properly from the start. The technology isn't the problem.

One week until Smart Manufacturing Week 2026.

Most ERP projects go live successfully. Most fail to deliver the value that was promised. That gap is what Toralf Andersson is speaking about at the event.

His session, "From Implementation to Impact: Rethinking ERP Success in Manufacturing," makes the case that going live is not the finish line. If your planners are still running parallel spreadsheets, your finance team is still reconciling manually at month-end, and production decisions are still happening outside the system, the ERP has not truly delivered.

That is the conversation worth having at the NEC.

If you are an Operations Director, Supply Chain Lead, Finance Director, or IT lead in manufacturing and you are not seeing the value you expected from your ERP, come and find us at Stand H153.

The Codestone team had a fantastic time at SAP Sapphire in Madrid this week, connecting with industry leaders, partners, and innovators shaping the future of enterprise technology.

The standout theme was the rise of the Autonomous Enterprise, with Joule positioned as the AI assistant for every business user. SAP is clearly putting its stake in the ground as a business AI company, and the differentiator is sharp: AI only delivers real value when it sits on top of governed enterprise data and rich business context.

The Knowledge Graph was heavily emphasised as the mechanism for giving AI that context, mapping business entities, processes, and relationships in a way generic models simply cannot replicate.

The new Joule Studio enhancements take this further. Users can now build agents, applications, and workflows by expressing a goal, with the agents deployed in minutes rather than months. It is genuinely outcome-driven, and the pace at which businesses can automate processes and unlock value is accelerating rapidly.

This is not a vision for tomorrow. It is happening now.

Thank you to the SAP team for organising an incredible event. Exciting times ahead for businesses embracing intelligent automation and AI-powered operations.

Great to be a part of the CCH Tagetik in Lucca this week.

A few key takeaways from the team

The most interesting insight from InTouch26 wasn’t about AI capabilities:
"It was about confidence."
"As systems become more autonomous, trust becomes both the constraint and the enabler of transformation."
"AI alone does not create value."
"Value comes from trusted data, business understanding, operational maturity, and the ability to turn insight into action."
"Finance is no longer just reporting performance."
"It’s becoming the orchestrator of it."

Thank you to the team at CCH Tagetik for hosting such a fantastic event and creating opportunities for meaningful conversations across the community.

We're looking forward to continuing the discussions and helping organisations turn strategy into measurable business outcomes.

SAP has an image problem in the mid-market.

Most businesses at this stage assume it is enterprise software for companies ten times their size, with IT teams to match. So they rule it out before doing the analysis. That is an expensive assumption to carry.

80% of SAP customers are midsize businesses. The platform was built for complex, growing operations, not just for global enterprises. The companies running it today are manufacturers, distributors, and professional services firms at exactly this scale.

If your business has already decided SAP is not for you, it may be worth revisiting that call. Myth 2 of 10: https://hubs.la/Q04hvBFJ0

Your best customers expect the right stock at the right time. Every time.
Overstocked on slow movers. Short on your best sellers. Purchase orders raised too late or too early. Demand and supply planning in wholesale distribution is genuinely hard when your data is fragmented. By the time the picture is clear, the window has already passed. SAP Business One connects purchasing, inventory, and sales so you order based on actual demand rather than best guesses. Fewer emergency orders, less dead stock, better delivery performance, and margins you can actually see.
