This month, we're talking with Maighread, our Office and Accounts Manager, who looks after our deliveries and finances.
What are your favourite parts about working at RedboxVR? 💼
I've only worked at Redbox for two years, but it feels like I've been here forever. We are a small team, and we all get on really well, so it's like an extended family. I'm the mother and supply all things sugary! Every day is different because all of our customers have different requirements, and I love learning about all the different content everyone is using. I didn't know anything about virtual reality when I came here, so it's been very interesting to find out how much it can be used in many different teaching and working environments.
What does a typical day look like for you in your role? 📅
First of all, coffee! When I started at Redbox, my main role was managing Sage accounts, so the first thing I do is check the bank and my emails. I arrange all of the shipping, so anything that needs to go out must be booked on before lunchtime. I also help the sales team by getting shipping quotes, filling in supplier forms and processing all the orders, which includes ordering everything from our suppliers. I am a team player, so if help is needed in another department, I'll be there, although packing tape is my nemesis!
What do you enjoy doing in your free time? 🧩
I have 3 grown-up daughters whom I love spending time with, either watching a movie or going out for dinner. DIY is my thing - I can't sit still. My husband gets scared every time I get the tape measure out! I have renovated my house many times; I love interiors and design, and I try to do as much as possible myself. I love a good demolition! I also love to travel and see different places.
