Every couple of days, someone signs up for my open source PAT Inspection logging site (PatLog) and stores a few tests, for free

A couple of times a month, a bouncy castle inspector signs up for my (£50/yr) open source play equipment logging system (Play-Test) and starts using it for their inspections

Maybe once per month or so, someone signs up for my (£50/year) open source online ticket sales system (Chobble Tickets), and starts using it for events they're running, saving £££s vs Eventbrite. And lately I've started spotting other nerds using the freely available code for their own projects, without involving me at all

None of these efforts pay me well - nearly all of my income comes from helping people build normal routine business websites, or helping them rank well on Google, or writing software for their specific one-off needs

The corporate jobs pay for the open source, community-minded stuff

Anyway this is all a long-winded way of saying, please employ me to build something for you!

The money you pay Chobble helps me create cool things that will hopefully benefit the wider internet.

As far as I can tell, this combination of values makes Chobble Tickets unique in the "ticket sales websites" marketplace:

- I provide hosting without taking any cut of your sales
- I cannot access your attendee data
- I don't demand credit, attribution, or backlinks
- You can host the same platform yourself if you're nerdy enough

Those all seem like pretty simple things but I have been surprised at how rare they are.

Those principles are important to me both as an event organiser (for Crumpsall Folk Club) and an attendee. I don't want the artists, creatives, and small businesses I enjoy to have to give a cut of their sales to someone else. I don't want my data to be used for marketing. I don't want unrelated third parties involved in my transactions with local businesses or riding their coat-tails to promote themselves.
