Friday Showcase! This week we got to see some of our recent work for WIBN Essex I have been a member of the network for over 4 years, in Leigh on Sea and more recently in Rayleigh, so it was great to work with group franchisee Vicky on some new marketing material.

Vicky first asked if we could create a new advert for the event brochure for the popular Dine with Davina Event. After reviewing the WIBN brand guidelines, we noticed there was a whole colour palette that wasn't really being used. Our job is to always make material stand out, and the secondary colours definitely helped to lift the branding, giving it a more dynamic, modern feel.

We then developed the advert into a double-sided flyer. We're always looking for marketing ideas for our client, so we suggested a discount code to encourage visitors to try out a meeting and also for existing members to pass on flyers to other business owners. We then created a new roller banner design for Vicky for her future events.

Photography by Brand photography by Petra and features some of the fabulous women from the Leigh on Sea group.

This showcase shows how we can take an existing brand and move it forward without losing the recognisable brand elements. Sometimes it's not always about starting again with your brand, it's about making better use of your existing brand. Get in touch if your brand could do with a lift!

Happy International Cat Day! Here’s a photo of the famous Bubbles. Watching us at work. She meows and makes me get up from my desk to go in the garden for back rubs. (Her not me!)
At 18 and 4 months old she’s a little slower than she used to be but still keeps us on our toes and is definitely in charge.

Friday Showcase is back! Since we arrived back from holiday, we've been very busy with various projects and our Showcases have definitely taken a back seat.

But we are back today with a new project we've just designed for Brentwood Borough Council. After our creative work with Rochford District Council, they approached us to design an A5 24 Page booklet for their Community Governance Review. Following the government's announcement of the Local Government reorganisation, the information sets out what a CGR is, the proposed options for new Town/Parish Councils in the Brentwood Borough area and how residents can take part in the consultation and share views.

The booklet adhered to their brand guidelines and included 9 local maps of the areas, which we re-created from supplied content. We've years of experience creating clear and visually appealing maps for the property industry, so this skill came in very handy!

Once the design was signed off, we coordinated the large print run of the brochure, recommending the most appropriate print specifications and FSC-certified paper stock to achieve a professional, sustainable result. The booklet was delivered to all residents in the Brentwood Borough. Something we are very proud of (it's always nice to know our design work is being seen 'in the wild!').

Even we have to sometimes just scribble a sign. Monday night, just as we were about to go to bed. Our hot water pipe leading to the tap decided to explode. Within seconds water was flooding the bathroom floor. 🤦🏻‍♀️my instant reaction apart from shouting and screaming very loudly to get the water turned off was to grab as many bath towels as possible. We’ve just finished decorating our downstairs toilet (after a leak in the floor) and this was directly above it. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Whilst we wait for the plumber, everyone needs a constant reminder (especially me!) to only use the cold tap or we’ll be flooded again.

It’s a good reminder that not every piece of communication out there needs paragraphs of text and fluffy AI over-produced visuals.

Good design communication isn’t about adding more. It’s about creating something that is easy to understand straight away and can’t be missed.
Ask yourself:
Is it clear?
Is it easy to understand?
Does it tell people what they need to know?

I think our post it note just about does this (though that water smudge does make it look like a ‘G’ now 😆)

Back from holiday and back to work. But when on holiday there’s always something that pops up which gets our design brains working overtime. 🙈 Usually it’s the design of a restaurant menu, a typo or spotting an AI flyer but Shaun spotted this bin icon and we’re convinced the outstretched arm is longer than the other one. Drove us both nuts all holiday 🙄 😆😆

Back this week with a great Friday Showcase.
We’ve been waiting for the client to go live on this one and are so pleased with the end result! Restore Medical Aesthetics and Skin Clinic based in Rayleigh asked for a classic, timeless logo for their rebrand. The five-sided polygon was chosen to represent balance, protection and renewal. Its structured form reflects medical expertise and professionalism, while its softer geometric proportions and rounded points convey care and wellbeing. Each side symbolises one of Restore’s five core principles: Protect, Restore, Rejuvenate, Strengthen and Maintain.
As with all our branding projects we included real life situations so the client could see how they can implement the design into their clinic.
Its been lovely to work on this rebrand and Frankee has already started to implement the branding into the clinic with signage. (see photos!) We wish Frankee the best of luck - give her a follow on Instagram!

Friday! Excited to feature this new website launch for Legacy Therapy today!

Louise approached us to create a more professional online presence for her therapy practice. While she already had a basic DIY website, it wasn’t really communicating how she works, what therapy involves or helping visitors feel a genuine connection with her.

As well as creating a more cohesive website design that fits with her existing logo, a big part of this project was guiding Louise through the content, structure and overall journey of the website. We worked closely with her to shape what information should be included, how it should flow and what potential clients may need to see or understand before reaching out.

We also discussed introducing new imagery of her therapy space and encouraged her to record a short video introduction to help visitors feel more comfortable and connected before taking that first step. We're hoping she shares the outtakes at some point on her socials 😆

The new website includes testimonials and a helpful FAQ section, all designed to create a calmer, clearer and more reassuring experience for the viewer.

The result is a website that not only looks professional but genuinely supports the client journey as well.

Our web design process is about far more than just how a website looks. We help businesses consider the full customer journey, creating websites that not only look professional but also genuinely connect with the viewer.

Not sure if your website is doing your business justice anymore? Get in touch, we’d love to chat and see how we can help.

Sometimes your branding doesn’t need a full overhaul, just a few considered changes to help it work harder. This week’s Friday Showcase features updated business cards and a subtle logo refinement for Brighter Future Therapy Practice

The original logo used light pink and green with very similar tonal values, which made the green difficult to distinguish and caused both colours to compete for attention. We advised against using the light pink as a background for the logo. To support the brand further, we introduced a circular graphic as a flexible secondary asset using the lighter colours. We also updated the ‘therapy practice’ text to a clean sans-serif font and replaced black with a dark blue from the existing palette. This creates a softer, more cohesive look, while making the secondary line easier to read and better balanced beneath the main name.

Using the new logo and circular asset, we created new, rounded corner business cards with a lovely soft laminated feel.

The result is a more confident, professional brand identity. Supported by a full set of colour specifications (not just hex values) to ensure consistency across both print and digital.

If your business logo could do with a refresh, or you’d value a second opinion, send us a DM and let's arrange a chat.

Have a great bank holiday weekend everyone!
