Internet routing issues today on at least BT and PlusNet services. More may be affected. Typical symptoms will be being only able to access certain sites.

Some reports suggesting a power outage in Docklands, others suggesting a cable failure. Either way only fix is to wait for BT to sort or to use a VPN out of the country.

Email with Microsoft Office 365 seems affected too so don't be surprised if you can't get emails.

If you have another source of internet, e.g. a MiFi or smartphone hotspot that may also work, just watch out for data caps and cost!

HP has announced a new notebook battery recall due to overheating issues that affects HP Compaq, HP ProBook, HP ENVY, Compaq Presario, and HP Pavilion notebooks sold worldwide between March 2013 and August 2015. If you own a notebook from one of the aforementioned families that was purchased between the provided dates, be sure to get in touch with HP for more details on how to return your notebook's battery.

You can pop over to https://h30686.www3.hp.com where there are full details on how to either automatically check your battery using a special download from HP or manually enter the required serial numbers into an online form.

A customer has asked us to take a look at their notebook and work out why it is shutting down after a short period of use. I suspect heat to be the cause and take it away to dismantle, clean and apply some new thermal compound.

Upon opening the plastics to remove HDD, RAM etc I find this little beauty, some folded paper holding the HDD in place and a hand written label saying 'HDD IS GLUED DOWN'.

I am flabbergasted to say the least as now I have to try and prise the HDD off without damaging it or the notebook?!

To protect the innocent we have removed serial numbers etc.

I've got a handful of R9 Nano GPU's for sale. Close to the first batch in the country and are only £569.99! Possibly the most interesting graphics architecture update at the moment.

Small and power efficient while still the best AMD card on the market in our opinion. We saw these in action at an event on Friday and they really are that good.
