❗ A section 35 dispersal order has been put in place in following an increase in reports of anti-social behaviour.

📍 The order, which sits under the Anti-Social Behaviour & Policing Act 2014, runs from 2pm today (Friday 19 June) until 4am tomorrow (Saturday 20 June) and covers the following area as (shown on the map):

• Hayling Road to the north, from its junction with Hamilton Road to Prestwick Road, including both sides of the road.
• Prestwick Road from its junction with Hayling Road to Northwick Road, including Station Approach and the Tesco petrol station.
• Northwick Road from its junction with Prestwick Road, to Muirfield Road.
• Muirfield Road from its junction with Northwick Road, to Oxhey Drive.
• Oxhey Drive from its junction with Muirfield Road, to Ainsdale Road.
• Ainsdale Road from its junction with Oxhey Drive, to Gosforth Lane.

It gives officers the power to:
• Require anyone to leave the area and prevent them from returning for up to 48 hours.
• Require a person to surrender items that can be used to cause anti-social behaviour.
• Send anyone aged under 16 home or to a place of safety.
• Arrest anyone who ignores the instruction.

🗣️ Neighbourhood Inspector Ben Harper said: “Over the past week we’ve received an increase in reports of anti-social behaviour, including reports of damage to vehicles and behaviour which has caused a great deal of alarm and distress among the local community.

“We take reports of this nature seriously and share the views of most people who believe this behaviour has no place in our towns.

“Officers will be patrolling the area to provide a visible presence and reassure members of the public.

“Anyone found to be acting anti-socially or committing criminal offences, will be dealt with robustly.”

A male from the town was arrested last night and remains in police custody, following racially aggravated public order and criminal damage in the Gosforth Lane area.

🚨 A van was seized and two men have been reported for offences following a fly-tipping in this morning (Wednesday 17 June).

Shortly after 10.30am, a call was received from a member of the public reporting that waste had just been dumped in Denham Way.

Officers from the Response team were dispatched and had located the van and its occupants within seven minutes.

They were escorted back to the location to clear the materials they had illegally dumped, before being informed that their van was being seized.

Both males have been reported to the council for civil enforcement. The driver was also reported for not having road tax.

Thanks to the swift actions of the caller, officers were able to quickly attend and take positive action 👏

🚨 New Community Safety and Engagement Boards launched across Hertfordshire 🚨

We are introducing 10 new Community Safety and Engagement Boards (CSEBs), aiming to capture voices from all local communities on policing and crime in their area.

Officially launching as part of , the boards will meet quarterly in every district and borough, bringing together community advisors, police officers, and partner organisations.

👥 Why it matters

CSEBs are all about listening, collaboration, and action. They will:
✅ Give communities a platform to share experiences of policing and crime
✅ Highlight emerging concerns and local tensions
✅ Help tackle crime and anti-social behaviour
✅ Shape local policing priorities
✅ Ensure policing is fair, inclusive, and representative.

Community Advisors are key trusted contacts in the community that officers can make contact with. They play a key role in helping police better understand the needs of our diverse communities.

🗣️ Superintendent Kash Hussain said:

“Our Community Advisors are an invaluable part of policing in Hertfordshire, helping us to better understand the communities we serve and respond to their needs. These boards will ensure there is a clear and consistent forum at a local level where community voices can be heard, concerns can be shared, and solutions can be shaped together.”

It’s and we’re shining a light on just some of the things that our dedicated Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) get up to.

From patrols and proactive operations, to problem solving and community engagement, their role is varied.

A big part of their work involves engaging with young people, to help keep them safe and build positive relationships.

One of the most popular avenues for this is through our Mini Police scheme.

The initiative is an interactive project for children in years five and six and sees officers from the NPT visit schools to deliver lessons over several weeks. Topics covered include things such as road safety, personal safety, staying safe online and anti-social behaviour.

Pupils at schools in the area have recently taken part in a Mini Police fun day where they got to try on unform, have a look at items of kit and see inside a police vehicle.

They have also braved the wet weather to display road safety posters they made to deter drivers from speeding on roads surrounding schools.

It is Neighbourhood Policing Week starting today, and we are proud to celebrate the vital role our Neighbourhood Policing Teams play in communities across Hertfordshire.

Neighbourhood policing is at the heart of what we do.

Our neighbourhood teams provide a visible, familiar presence, working closely with residents, businesses and partners to understand local issues and take action where it matters most. Their focus is on preventing crime, reducing harm and building trust – making our communities safer places to live and work.

Based in locations close to the communities they serve, they are made up of PCs, PCSOs, a sergeant and inspector. They tackle problems early, target offenders, and work closely with the public.

Neighbourhood Policing Teams help deliver long-term, sustainable solutions to the issues that affect people day to day, such as anti-social behaviour and local crime problems.

Superintendent Chris Hay said: “We are fully committed to neighbourhood policing in Hertfordshire and to supporting the officers and staff who make this work possible. This week is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the difference they make every day, and to reinforce our commitment to keeping communities safe, connected and heard.”

We are appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage following a collision in Croxley Green.

The incident happened at around 3.22pm on Saturday (13 June) in Tolpits Lane. Two vehicles were involved, a Honda CBR 650 motorbike and a Toyota Aygo.

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in hospital at this time.

Sergeant Luke Jenkins from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it to please get in touch. If you were travelling in the area at the time and have a dash cam fitted, please review your footage as you may have captured something which could assist with our enquiries.”

PCSOs attended an event in yesterday (Tuesday 9 June), aimed at providing advice and information for older residents.

The Older Persons Activity Learning and Safety (OPALS) event, hosted at Watersmeet Theatre, saw multiple agencies come together, including the constabulary, Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and Trading Standards, as well as a number of support organisations.

Talks and presentations were given to help share useful advice and information, while PCSOs discussed crime prevention, alongside colleagues from the constabulary’s Fraud and Cyber Unit and the Community Engagement Team.

OPALs events are always well attended and are a great way for police and partner agencies to share advice directly with older residents. Thank you to everyone who spoke with us 😊

We are appealing for the victim, and witnesses, of a reported racially aggravated public order offence in to come forward.

It was reported an offensive racial term was used towards a man by another man while inside The Pennsylvanian pub in Rickmansworth High Street at around 11am on Monday 18 May.

Police were called and a man was arrested in connection to the incident and has been bailed while enquiries continue.

🚨 A quantity of drugs was recovered, and two people were arrested after police stopped a vehicle during proactive patrols in .

Officers came across the vehicle of interest in Uxbridge Road on Friday evening (5 June).

Four people were detained while searches were carried out, leading to suspected Class A drugs and a significant quantity of cash being found.

Further suspected drugs and related paraphernalia were found during a subsequent search of an address.

✅ Two men were arrested and remain under investigation.
✅ One person was issued with a community resolution.
✅ One person will be summoned to court.

Enquiries continue.
