A good reminder this week that not all SEO problems are caused by Google updates or competition.
I reviewed two websites that had been paying for SEO but seeing little to no results.
The issue?
Both sites had been set to “noindex” for close to 2 years — effectively telling Google not to rank them.
The SEMrush graph showed an almost instant cliff-edge drop in visibility.
This is why technical SEO experience matters. Not all SEO providers work at the same technical level, and sometimes one overlooked setting can completely destroy rankings.
Always check the foundations first.
