Quick one… if your website was built DIY, this might actually be why you’re not getting enquiries.
And I don’t mean that in a bad way, loads of people do it when they’re starting out… it makes sense. But honestly, a lot of the DIY websites we see end up doing more harm than good.
They just come across quite amateur… and the reality is, if your website looks amateur, people assume the business is too. So instead of getting in touch, they just leave and go somewhere else.
A lot of the time it’s not one big issue, it’s loads of small things… like messy layouts, no real structure, nothing really guiding you on what to do next. You land on the site and it’s just a bit like… where do I even click?
Then on top of that, it might not work properly on mobile, which is where most people are actually viewing it… so if it’s awkward or frustrating to use, people won’t hang around.
And another big one is SEO, which is basically how you show up on Google… a lot of DIY sites don’t take that into account at all, so even though the website’s live, no one’s actually finding it.
So yeah, it’s not that DIY websites are a bad thing… they’re great to get something up and running… but if you’re trying to grow, get more enquiries, and look more established, your website needs to actually work for you… not quietly put people off.
