We're delighted to share that Wight Computers Ltd has achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification.

The key word is Plus. Unlike standard Cyber Essentials, which is a self-assessment, the Plus level involves an independent auditor carrying out hands-on technical testing of your systems. Our security controls have been independently verified, not just self-reported.

As an IT managed services provider, we believe it's important to hold ourselves to the same standards we recommend to our clients. This certification is confirmation from a third party that we genuinely do that.

Cyber Essentials covers the five foundational controls that protect against the most common cyber threats: firewalls, secure configuration, access controls, malware protection, and patch management. At Plus level, an auditor verifies all of this for themselves.

We're also seeing this certification become a supply chain requirement across many sectors. If your business is being asked to demonstrate its cyber security posture to customers or partners, we can help you work towards certification.

Feel free to reach out if you'd like to know more.

We’ve got some lovely news to share at Wight Computers.

Thirteen years after the business was founded, we’re now officially a family business.

Kate, who is Andrew’s wife, has joined the team as Operations Director, bringing with her experience from a long and successful career in education. Kate will be overseeing the day to day operations of the business, allowing Andrew to focus more time on customer IT strategy, cyber security and innovation.

We’re excited about this next chapter for Wight Computers and pleased to welcome Kate to the team!

We are proud to announce that Wight Computers have donated £1,000 to John Cattle’s Skate Club, our chosen Charity of the Year for 2025. 🛹

If you’re local, you’ve probably heard of the Skate Club. It’s a brilliant community interest company that teaches people of all ages and abilities how to skateboard. It’s run by John Cattle, a lifelong Island skateboarder who’s helped create a fun, inclusive space that brings people together and builds confidence on and off the ramps.

“I took lessons with John a few years ago and saw first-hand what a welcoming and positive environment the Skate Club creates. They do fantastic work in the local community, and when we heard they were struggling with rising costs, we knew we wanted to help. This donation is our way of giving something back to a cause that genuinely changes lives on the Island.”
– Andrew Nordbruch, Managing Director of Wight Computers.

The club is currently running a fundraising appeal to cover some of their essential expenses like insurance and staff training, which are needed just to keep the doors open.

“We’re really grateful to Andrew and the Wight Computers’ team for their support. Things have become harder financially, especially when we’re trying to keep things affordable for the families who need it most. Donations like this give us breathing space while we wait on funding decisions and help us keep doing what we love.”
– John Cattle, found of the Skate Club.

If you’d like to support them too, they’ve set up a page here:

And yes, we marked the occasion in style, with John doing an ollie over Andrew and his laptop. Naturally.
