Despite the Northumberland weather doing its very best to dampen spirits, the CTTS rally still turned up some absolutely epic finds, proof that a bit of rain never stopped a good day's detecting.

Richard headed out with his Minelab Manticore, running it straight out of the box on the default settings, and pulled up a lovely piece of gold that we think might just be ring money. Not a bad reward for a soggy day in the field.

And a shoutout to Anthony from Six on Sticks Metal Detecting Club, who unearthed a cracking cannonball with his Equinox 900.

What's really got everyone talking is the other cannonballs and musket balls coming out of this site, folks have started digging into the history (pun intended), and it's looking more and more like there was once a battle fought right here. There's nothing quite like pulling real history out of the ground.

Massive well done to everyone who braved the wet and got stuck in, and a special well done to Anthony and Richard!

Six days, around 6,000 young Scouts, and a whole lot of first-ever beeps. 🔎

Getting the next generation into detecting — and out into the fresh air, away from screens and heads-up — is something we care about deeply, so spending a week at the Lincolnshire Poacher Jamboree was an absolute joy. Watching a youngster unearth their very first find, then light up as they realise they're holding a little piece of history, is exactly why we do this.

There was a test bed, workshops, certificates, and even Lucy Spraggan out helping the little ones find their first signal. Curiosity, patience, teamwork, time outdoors, everything the hobby stands for, and everything we love passing on.

In this clip, Luc Van Assche explains why increasing recovery speed in tougher conditions is key — helping you separate targets and avoid masking.

Drop it too low, and yes… you might gain depth.
But you’ll lose targets.
Performance over depth. Every time.

In this clip, Mark Land Phil explain the science behind pinpointing — how your detector narrows the signal to help you locate a target accurately before you dig.

Less guesswork. Cleaner recoveries. Better results.

Not every signal is safe to dig.
On the beach, you might come across sharp objects, unexploded ordnance, or hazardous items — and knowing what to do is just as important as knowing how to detect.

In this clip, Paul Cee explains how to handle dangerous finds safely and responsibly.
If in doubt… don’t touch it.
