Earlier this year, Peterborough Cathedral launched their 'Cathedral in Crisis' appeal, to address growing concerns around the cost of keeping a large heritage site open and available.
Since then, they have reached their goal of £300,000 while also starting the necessary conversation around a Cathedrals place in todays society.
We have supported many Cathedrals, including Peterborough, with our contactless donation devices over the years, so we were keen to understand how these prominent buildings are tackling financial hardship and where our devices fit in.
Many non-profit organisations across the UK are facing similar challenges, with a growing need for increased footfall and public support. Looking at Cathedrals as an example, we breakdown some of the considerations for a successful and dynamic funding strategy.
