17:00 on a Friday and one of the servers at a customer dies with a non-predictable and fatal hardware failure. Less than 24 hours later and we're all back up again on temporary hardware with a plan for next week.

Found my first Windows 10 bug today which has affected one of my customers. There are issues with VPN configuration and Office 2103 was unable to open files over a VPN.
Our current advice is to re-create the VPN on Windows 10. However this then uncovers the fact that you have to use Powershell to disable the default gateway on the VPN because for some reason you can't do this from the user interface.

Just has a call from a nice Indian man. He asked if I was in front of my computer, and got me to go into Event Viewer to look for errors. He then said, and I quote "Oh my God, Oh my God, someone has stolen the software from your computer. I shall have to ask my technician to connect to your computer to fix this". I had to put the phone down I was laughing so much. They called back (it's my office line) and I let it go to voicemail which has the company name and indicates I do IT support for a living. Perhaps they get the idea I'm not interested.
