I am a IT Tech / Network Manager with over ten years experience in the IT industry. I am Microsoft qualified in Server 2003 / 2008 as well as Windows XP / Vista / 7 as well as networking technology s, so I have the experience and know how to take on any IT fix, repair or setup.

This Xbox series x was dropped in by a customer with damaged hdmi port. I get also opted for a deep clean too while I was in there as it was really filthy inside. It’s now had new hdmi port fitted as well as new thermal case and the inside of the console deep cleaned so now looks like new inside !.

PS5 number two of day the day overheating, this one wasn’t too mucky inside, but the Liquid Metal had made a rather large dry spot on the cpu so this causes the console to overheat and turn off. Once a full strip down and clean + Liquid Metal re application was done it’ll now be running normally again.

It’s ps5 overheating season again ! - if you’re overheats and turns off like this one does, get it brought in and I shall give it a full service. Once I’m done it’ll look like a brand new console inside and the overheating problem will be a thing of the past ! .

This ps5 was dropped in and was overheating. To be honest I’m actually surprised it turned on at all !. There’s no Liquid Metal on the APU ?!, so really not sure what has gone on here. What’s even weirder is the warranty sticker was intact and internally didn’t look like it had been opened.

This Marlec solar iboost+ was posted into us by a customer and apparently wasn’t turning on. It had been running happily for 7 years and then conked out.

I traced one of the issues to be the usual bridge rectifier as no rectified 240v was getting through, but after replacing this it still wouldn’t turn on. So next replaced the low voltage transformer which powers the logic side of things and this got it back in business.

Once that was swapped the unit was then fully tested ready to send back to the customer.

This ASUs laptop was sent into me by a business that works with me. They tried to replace the battery as the laptop wouldn’t turn on, but ripped the connector off the board. I replaced the connector but it still wouldn’t turn on. I put it under the thermal camera and saw a mosfet beating up, but it was just getting hot because of the current being pulled through it not because it was short. So I removed the board and found the short on the back. The main power line had shorted to the ground plane below it because it liquid damage. This was repaired and sealed and is now back from the dead and worming again!.

This ps5 was dropped in by a customer and was overheating and had no hdmi output. We gave it a deep clean making it as clean as brand new inside again and also replaced the Hindi port and re applied the Liquid Metal. Now like a brand new console again !.

Huawei laptop charge port replacement, my pet hate job !. USB c ports as charge ports are a terrible idea on laptops, the amount of laptops I see with broken traces on the charge port is ridiculous. As unlike traditional barrel ports that had nice thick, strong pins, usb c isn’t made to be strong in the slightest and just can’t take being unplugged and plugged constantly. Luckily on this one the pins themselves were ok, so I kept my sanity….this time…..

This dewalt dcb104 was dropped in and wasn’t working. I thought at first it was just the wires on the back of the battery connection plug that had come odd but apparently not. After spending forever digging the silicone off, removing the many plastered in screws and clips I could finally remove the board on each side. Under the thermal camera it went and I found a shorted diode on each side . (Common problem apparently), so replaced them with a higher amp version so they don’t blow again, then fully tested and re assembled It !.
