Here's a look at what the team has been up to this month at RAD.

July highlights:
> Took part in the SWRDSC at BattleLab
> Secured ÂŁ4.4 million in funding to accelerate the commercialisation of our autonomous marine technologies
> Paddy and Rudi commissioned two patrol vessels in Athens, Greece
> Welcomed Sean Wilson as US Sales Manager to support our expansion in the region

What if protecting our seas started with making them quieter?

This , we're reflecting on the role technology can play in supporting healthier marine environments.

Working alongside , we supported research comparing a conventional outboard with a RAD electric outboard. The findings highlighted the potential for electric propulsion to significantly reduce underwater noise, helping to lessen disturbance beneath the surface.

At RAD, we're proud to be developing propulsion systems that don't just improve how vessels move through the water, but how they interact with the environment around them.

Just over six months ago, we opened RAD's US division in Charleston, South Carolina 🇺🇸

In a short space of time, the team has helped strengthen our presence across North America, supporting customers and accelerating the adoption of next-generation electric marine propulsion.

As we continue to grow, we're delighted to welcome Sean Wilson to the team as Sales Manager.

Sean's appointment marks another exciting step in our US journey as we continue to expand our reach and support the transition to cleaner, more efficient marine propulsion.

Here are a few highlights from the past month:
> Todd Duncan took to the stage at Advanced Maritime Technology Expo & Conference to discuss what closes the deal on maritime electrification
> Golden Arrow Marine showcased its Autonomous Water Craft at Seawork, powered by AXON.
> Our CEO, Dan Hook, represented RAD at Seawork 2026, speaking at the "Propulsion in Practice: Matching Systems to Operations" panel.

A great example of engineering meeting environmental responsibility.

Natural Habitat Adventures operates in one of the world’s most protected environments, the Galápagos National Park, and needed a solution that would allow them to use the RAD 40 while safeguarding the surrounding ecosystem.

The challenge:
The RAD 40 wasn’t originally designed with a prop guard, but adding one was essential for this application.

The solution:
Working closely with BHFabrications we designed and manufactured a bespoke prop guard using A4 stainless steel, built to withstand harsh marine conditions without compromising on performance.

After testing, we’ve proven the RAD 40 can still deliver exactly what’s needed, now with an added layer of environmental consideration.

A smart, practical adaptation that opens up new possibilities for use in sensitive environments.
