It started with people trying car doors...

Nothing had been taken, but over a couple of weeks there had been reports along the same street. Door handles tried late at night. Someone moving between driveways. A figure disappearing down the alley behind the houses.

So the owner of one of the semis had cameras fitted.

One covered the drive. The other looked across the back garden towards the side gate and the alley beyond.

They wanted colour at night. Not just a grey silhouette, but the colour of a coat, trainers, a car at the end of the road. Something useful if it happened again.

And it worked.

But a few nights later - a problem appeared.

To produce that colour image, the rear camera's white light was illuminating the patio, most of the lawn and the conifers along the fence.

It was also clearing the six foot fence into next door.

Their conservatory came almost to the boundary. Directly above it was their son's bedroom.

At 11pm, with everything else in darkness, the light was hard to miss.

A few nights later there was a knock at the door.

The neighbours understood why the cameras were there.

They just didn't want a white light shining across the back of their house every night.

So what do you do?

Turn the light off and lose some of the colour detail you wanted.

Leave it on and keep lighting up next door.

Or use a camera that doesn't need to rely on it.

That's where Uniview OwlView Plus comes in.

Its large sensor, wide aperture and Wise ISP low light processing are designed to produce full colour images in extremely low light, without relying on supplemental white light.

The garden stays dark.

The bedroom next door stays dark.

But you can still see the lawn, fence line, side gate and whoever is walking through it.

And the same problem exists on commercial jobs too. Pub car parks next to houses. Industrial units backing onto residential streets. Shops with flats above them.

You still need useful footage.

You just don't always want to light up everything around it.

Uniview OwlView Plus. See what's happening at night, without turning night into day.

Most gardens don’t need this level of security.

Then again, most gardens haven’t had more than £1,000,000 spent on them and been watched by over 4.5 million viewers worldwide...

That was the slightly unusual starting point for a project we’ve been involved with over the last few months.

The brief was serious.

Protect the property properly.

Protect what Mark Marshall has spent years building.

And create a system capable of responding at several different levels rather than simply recording what happened afterwards.

That brought Ajax Systems, NightSabre and UR FOG together on the same job.

Detection, surveillance, lighting, deterrence and a physical response, all forming different layers around the property.

It has also taken a lot of people working together behind the scenes.

Sean Lambert at in home cctv & security created the opportunity by reaching out to Mark, before surveying the property, designing the system and taking responsibility for the installation.

Ajax Systems supported the project with equipment.

Jason Hill and Device Smart supported the NightSabre side of the installation.

UR Fog added another layer of protection.

And Satsecure has been supporting the project throughout, helping bring the different parts together.

There have been site visits, long days, plenty of kit and the small matter of getting everything finished around a filming deadline.

Now, for the first time, we can actually show you some of the result.

The full video is live on YouTube. Search: Mark Marshall Secure

There’s a lot more to Uniview than picking your megapixels and camera shape. Look a little closer at the range and you’ll find cameras built for very different jobs...

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘆 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸.
Good image quality, sensible pricing and plenty of choice for the residential and everyday commercial jobs you’re fitting week in, week out.

𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲.
For yards, shop fronts, compounds and exposed areas, the red and blue warning lights and extra loud speaker mean the camera actually responds when someone enters a protected area. You’re not just left with good footage of them afterwards.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗢𝘄𝗹𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘄, 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀.
Give it a small amount of ambient light and its low light performance can produce usable colour detail without relying on supplementary LEDs to light the scene. A huge advantage where you want the camera to be discreet or light pollution could cause issues with neighbours.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲.

Easy for the everyday work.

TriGuard when deterrence matters.

OwlView when the light disappears but the detail still matters.

Whatever the site calls for, there’s a Uniview option sitting on our shelves.

Ajax has four battery options for Hub BP Jeweller, which gives you a lot more freedom when you’re securing sites where mains power just isn’t happening.

Construction sites, vacant properties, farms, solar sites, remote buildings, temporary installs. Anywhere power is awkward basically.

There are two types of battery depending on the job.

𝗡𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲

These are the ones for longer term installs where you want to fit it and leave it alone for as long as possible.

𝟳.𝟮𝗩/𝟵𝟱𝗔𝗵: Up to 25 months in Battery power saver mode.

𝟳.𝟮𝗩/𝟭𝟵𝟬𝗔𝗵: Up to 50 months in Battery power saver mode.

That kind of runtime matters when the site is miles away or just a pain to get back to. Less battery swapping. Less travelling back out just to keep the system alive.

Then you’ve got the 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗙𝗲𝗣𝗢𝟰 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀.

These make more sense for temporary sites or jobs where you know the system will be checked and maintained regularly anyway.

𝟲.𝟰𝗩/𝟯𝟲𝗔𝗵: Up to 8 months in Battery power saver mode.

𝟲.𝟰𝗩/𝟳𝟴𝗔𝗵: Up to 18 months in Battery power saver mode.

The 95Ah and 36Ah versions fit straight into Hub BP Jeweller.

If you need the bigger 190Ah or 78Ah batteries, those are used with Case D.

So you’re not stuck trying to make the job fit whatever power is already there.

You can choose the battery around how long the system needs to run, how often you can get back to site and what kind of install you’re dealing with.

For remote sites especially, that gives you a lot more options with Ajax Systems

The expensive part of video surveillance isn't always the cost of the hardware. Sometimes it’s time. Your customers’ time. Losing an afternoon trying to find 30 seconds of footage.

A delivery has been disputed. They know it involved a white van near the loading bay, and the driver was wearing a high visibility jacket. What they do not know is the exact time it happened.

With conventional playback, someone starts working through hours of recordings across multiple cameras.

With Uniview SeekFree, they describe what they are looking for and let the recorder search the footage.

SeekFree can combine details such as the person, vehicle, clothing, behaviour and location to return relevant results in seconds.

Once the correct person or vehicle has been identified, AcuSearch can then help follow that target through the recorded footage.

That is the conversation to have when you are quoting the system.

Ask your customer about the last time they had to investigate an incident.

How long did someone spend reviewing footage?

What work was delayed while they searched?

Did they ever find what they needed?

You can then show them how that same investigation becomes a straightforward text search.

The proposal moves away from camera count, storage and resolution alone.

You are giving the customer a faster way to resolve disputes, investigate theft and respond to incidents without pulling a manager or security officer away from their actual job.

It also gives your quote something that is harder to compare on price alone.

SeekFree is available across compatible Uniview NVR ranges, with access through the recorder interface and supported web, desktop and mobile platforms.

Speak to Satsecure about demonstrating SeekFree before your next Uniview quote.

A housing on its own does very little. The same goes for the lens, motor and all the smaller parts hidden inside it. It only becomes useful when everything comes together and starts working as one. A good camera is much the same.

What surrounds it matters too: the wider range, the engineering behind it and the support available when a job becomes more involved.

Uniview brings those pieces together.

It is an established global CCTV manufacturer with the scale and product development to compete alongside the industry’s leading brands.

Each new product goes through more than 680 tests during development and production before reaching the market.

That depth carries through the range.

A straightforward installation can stay straightforward, with dependable cameras and recorders that are easy to specify and sensibly priced.

But when night time image quality matters, OwlView keeps useful colour detail in low light without turning the site into a floodlit yard.

And when a customer has already dealt with theft, vandalism or repeated trespass, TriGuard gives you a stronger answer.

Intelligent detection, warning lights and audio allow the camera to react while something is happening, rather than simply producing clearer footage afterwards.

For wider areas and more demanding sites, there are panoramic cameras, PTZ, ANPR, thermal and specialist options that go beyond a standard camera and recorder package.

You can shape the system around the site, the risk and the available budget, while staying within one manufacturer’s ecosystem.

The support behind the product matters too.

Uniview UK & Ireland has a strong and growing team, while Satsecure can help you select the right equipment, check a specification and support you through setup and commissioning.

More installers are now seeing how much of their video work the Uniview range can cover.

The first shipment of Ajax Superior HLVF cameras landed at Satsecure this week and went straight back out again, with every unit already allocated to pre-orders.

There is a good reason installers have been waiting for them.

Picture the camera mounted, powered up and looking across the site.

The image is nearly right, but the field of view needs moving slightly. With a conventional varifocal camera, that can mean another trip up the ladder. On a larger commercial site, it could mean bringing the scissor lift back out just to make a small adjustment.

With the Superior HLVF, the motorised varifocal lens is controlled through the Ajax app. Focal length and focus can be adjusted from the ground until the view is exactly where you need it.

No climbing back up. No access equipment to rearrange. No return visit for a camera that was only a few degrees out.

True WDR handles another problem installers regularly face: a bright entrance opening into a much darker room.

Normally, you end up compromising. Expose for the doorway and lose the detail inside, or expose for the room and wash out whoever is walking through the entrance.

The HLVF keeps useful detail across both areas, giving you a clearer, more balanced image from one of the most difficult positions on any site.

The real value, though, becomes clear when the camera is added to the wider Ajax system.

Video, intrusion and fire can all be managed through the same Ajax app and account. Camera detection can activate a siren or automation device, while an intrusion detector can immediately pull up the relevant recording for visual verification.

There is a sensible route for existing CCTV systems too. An Ajax Superior NVR can apply onboard AI analytics to compatible third party cameras, adding people, vehicle and line-crossing detection without forcing the customer to replace every camera already on the wall.

You get a better image from the new camera, while the system around it becomes more capable as well.

Ajax Superior products are available through accredited partners only.

Ajax EN54 is creating exciting opportunities in commercial wireless fire. But once you start fitting it, the tooling matters. Satsecure is first to receive stock of the new SOLO230-001 Ajax Removal/Survey Tool from Detectortesters.

It has been built for Ajax Systems detectors and fits directly onto standard Solo access poles.

That means you can fit and remove Ajax detectors using a simple twist motion, without treating the tooling as an afterthought once you’re already on site.

It also helps at survey stage.

You can secure the detector in the tool and check signal strength through the Ajax app before final positioning. The LED indicators in the detector base remain visible through the bottom of the tool too.

If you’re quoting or installing Ajax EN54, this is the kind of kit that should be going out with it.

We also stock supporting Detector Testers equipment, including Solo poles, smoke testing equipment, heat testing equipment and consumables.

SOLO230-001 Ajax Removal/Survey Tool is now in stock at Satsecure.
