New Local Business and Freelance Marketplace, Hebmac, is now finally live.
Hebmac, a new local business and freelance marketplace, has launched this month for businesses and customers based across the Western Isles.
With an increasing number of people looking to try out being self-employed but without the resources to promote their services, the hebmac.com website has been built to answer this challenge.
Hebmac is a business directory designed specifically for individuals and small businesses located on the Western Isles. It directly connects local service providers with local customers looking for the services that they provide.
Local professionals can sign up near-instantly and quickly list all the services they provide. Along with their profile, all the tools they need to keep track of their jobs, schedule, invoices, and pay-outs are provided.
Customers can search for the service they need, get a quote and leave reviews once the job has been completed. This will help local customers by saving them time finding someone reliable to cover a task.
Many people across the Western Isles are interested in becoming self-employed or keen to earn extra income outside of their current job. But the time and costs involved with setting up a business - such as building a website and spending money on marketing - makes this a difficult step for a burgeoning entrepreneur.
While there are other business and freelance marketplaces, many of these charge an annual subscription fee or you need to buy credits in order to see potential leads. This means that you end up paying even if you don’t secure any work at all from using the marketplace.
Hebmac works differently. It is completely free to sign up and service providers just pay a 15% fee on jobs that are accepted once they have been completed. Local providers can factor this fee into their quote, meaning that they can start selling their services and getting quotes as soon as they sign up.
We built Hebmac with the dual aim of creating more jobs in the local community and providing a stepping stone to try out being self-employed.
“Literally anyone that provides a service can use the website - from joiners and plumbers to babysitters, tutors and bespoke craftspeople. If you provide a service but don't have the time or resources to create a website and market what you provide then Hebmac is perfect for you”.
