Hebmac

Hebmac Our Western Isles business directory creates local jobs for existing service providers and for new professionals hoping to go self-employed.

Hebmac is a platform that operates as a business directory and marketplace for services across the Western Isles; from the Isles of Harris and Lewis to North Uist, South Uist, Barra and Benbecula. We offer a safe and secure process for local customers in the Outer Hebrides to find someone suitable for any job - big or small. Customers can leave reviews about the service provided once the job has been completed.

Question for any service providers covering any type of work within the Western Isles:

You have three options as far as how the processing fee gets obtained to go towards any new local facility for families, do you agree or can suggest a suitable alternative?

You choose through a toggle on the service dashboard for the fee to be either 10% or 15%.

- You accept the fee to be deducted from your bill issued to the customer.
- You choose the customer to cover the fee by selecting it as a surcharge.
- You choose to split the fee between both you and the customer.

We want this to work for everyone so feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Coming Soon

For each job completed through Hebmac within the Western Isles after a local service provider has been paid, the 15% processing fee will be put towards creating better local facilities for children and families.

Each service provider that uses Hebmac can either have this 15% fee deducted from their total invoice issued to a customer or added as a surcharge to the customer they are doing a job for, the processing fee would also be available to be lowered if needed.

We would like local feedback on projects to initially work on but our first idea was to create a local indoor trampoline park, similar to what Inverness has through Infinity Trampoline Park.

Through local businesses and customers working together through us, we can create a better future with better facilities and entertainment for children and local families.

Feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Due to the level of requests we are receiving from various different business providers from Inverness and other areas throughout Scotland, we have decided to open the site to cover the rest of Scotland. This will take a couple of weeks to implement and become available. All local service providers that have their business listing active or someone new that signs up from the Western Isles will still have their business services showcased to the areas they choose to cover.

https://hebmac.com/local-professional/signup

We understand some locals work remotely covering a wide range of online-based work, web development, design, language tutoring, all if you wish can be covered across all areas we list, please just ensure you select your service as online-based.

We plan to add a checklist box with instructions on the dashboard for new service providers that are unsure or need a step by step process to follow and finalise their listing before it publishes live to site.

Any questions or help needed, feel free to reach out to us and ask.

We're just about to enable video and audio calls on the dashboard live chat between local service providers and customers, this feature will open up the availability for a lot of requested services providers to now use the system.

If you experience any downtime or technical issues, whilst the updates are being implemented, this is due to the new features being installed from the staging server to the live version.

Just to clarify over the 15% fee over some that have queried, the fee can be factored into the quote or figure you provide to a customer, you have the availability to alter this to suit your personal financial circumstances over billing. The fee is required for site maintenance and the processing of automated payments, ongoing developer and support costs.

Free to join, you do not pay anything to sign up and use the platform, the fee only applies for any work you've got via the site.

New Local Business and Freelance Marketplace, Hebmac, is now finally live.

Hebmac, a new local business and freelance marketplace, has launched this month for businesses and customers based across the Western Isles.

With an increasing number of people looking to try out being self-employed but without the resources to promote their services, the hebmac.com website has been built to answer this challenge.

Hebmac is a business directory designed specifically for individuals and small businesses located on the Western Isles. It directly connects local service providers with local customers looking for the services that they provide.

Local professionals can sign up near-instantly and quickly list all the services they provide. Along with their profile, all the tools they need to keep track of their jobs, schedule, invoices, and pay-outs are provided.

Customers can search for the service they need, get a quote and leave reviews once the job has been completed. This will help local customers by saving them time finding someone reliable to cover a task.

Many people across the Western Isles are interested in becoming self-employed or keen to earn extra income outside of their current job. But the time and costs involved with setting up a business - such as building a website and spending money on marketing - makes this a difficult step for a burgeoning entrepreneur.

While there are other business and freelance marketplaces, many of these charge an annual subscription fee or you need to buy credits in order to see potential leads. This means that you end up paying even if you don’t secure any work at all from using the marketplace.

Hebmac works differently. It is completely free to sign up and service providers just pay a 15% fee on jobs that are accepted once they have been completed. Local providers can factor this fee into their quote, meaning that they can start selling their services and getting quotes as soon as they sign up.

We built Hebmac with the dual aim of creating more jobs in the local community and providing a stepping stone to try out being self-employed.

“Literally anyone that provides a service can use the website - from joiners and plumbers to babysitters, tutors and bespoke craftspeople. If you provide a service but don't have the time or resources to create a website and market what you provide then Hebmac is perfect for you”.

Just wanted to share some of the benefits the site will provide.

As we near closer to the release after we finish this final phase of testing, we hope to support not only well-established businesses but start up’s and new service providers that have limited awareness and are looking to get more customers to use their service.

The site has been developed with a long term aim to support business and connect locally, anyone that needs any task done in a simplified and innovative way. Employment opportunities over on-site support and marketing will follow soon.
