Nina Lennon, Sales Administrator at OGL Software, and her friend, Sally, recently took part in an Ultra Challenge to raise money for Acorns. Sally’s grandson, Max, was born 18 months ago with a rare brain condition called Lissencephaly.
"We started at 7am on Sunday in Weymouth and completed the challenge at 7.45pm in Bridport (a total of 12 hours and 45 minutes, though this included our rest stops) and walked a total of 68,243 steps along the rugged and unbelievably hilly Jurassic Coast.
It was the most physically and mentally exhausting thing I’ve ever done; the 5km stretch along Chesil Beach almost finished me off, trudging along the shingle beach in the pouring rain felt like trawling through treacle! I don’t know how many times we had to tell ourselves we were doing this for Max to keep us going.
I’m so proud of us for completing this as we are both in our fifties and not generally very active, but we’ve really pushed ourselves this year to prepare for this challenge. So far I have raised £695 and, between us, over £2100 for
I am now looking forward to a few weekends of doing as little as possible to let my feet recover 😊"
Congratulations and well done Nina from all of us at OGL Software!!
