Last night we celebrated Jill’s retirement! After 11 years at The Broch it was time for our Panettiere Straordinario to say goodbye to kitchen corner! Jill has been with us since day one and amongst other things managed the extremely difficult task of teaching me how to bake! Jill you have been my friend, colleague, sounding partner, at times councillor and you will be greatly missed. It’s time for you to enjoy life and to take on some new challenges. Remember the Broch will always be your second home! ❤️

We have been advised by SSEN that the power supply to the cafe will be off tomorrow morning Thursday 06 August between 9am and 12pm. We will therefore open at 1pm. Apologies for any inconvenience.

All members of staff and regular customers say a fond and sad farewell to our most loyal and longstanding habitué, Joe Seymour.
His wry humour and twinkling eye will be greatly missed and it will always be “the Brigadier’s” chair in the corner.
The cafe will be closed on Tuesday 28th July as we will be hosting his wake.

Funeral notice at the request of his family.

Joseph Seymour peacefully passed away on Thursday 16th July 2026 in Forth Valley Royal Hosptial, aged 93.

A devoted husband to the late Jean, beloved father of Alan, father-in-law of Jeanette, grandfather to Richard and Kayleigh and their partners Gemma and Dave and great-grandfather to Jack and Charlotte.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday 28th July, at 2:30pm, in Stirlingshire Crematorium.

Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Killin Mountain Rescue Team are welcomed.
