🚨 REFURBISHED DOESN’T ALWAYS MEAN WHAT YOU THINK IT DOES… 🚨
Just because a phone is labelled “Refurbished” - even by a big-name retailer or network - it doesn’t necessarily mean it has been refurbished using the best available parts.
We had a device come into us today that had been sold by Vodafone as an “Excellent Refurbished” device.
On inspection, we found:
❌ Third-party back glass
❌ Third-party screen
⚠️ And most concerningly, the screen had a tag on flex claiming it was a “Genuine Apple Part”… when it wasn’t.
Now, to be clear, aftermarket screens can absolutely be suitable in the right circumstances. The issue here is transparency. If a part isn’t genuine, customers deserve to know exactly what they’re buying.
🔧 THE MORAL OF THE STORY?
Be careful where you buy your refurbished devices.
Don’t be afraid to ask:
👉 What parts have been replaced?
👉 Are the replacement parts genuine?
👉 Has the battery been replaced?
👉 What exactly does “refurbished” mean to that particular seller?
