Challenge complete... and what a result!

When we launched our team challenge, we set ourselves an ambitious distance target. Thanks to everyone's incredible efforts, we didn't just reach it... we smashed it!

Together we covered an extra 500km beyond our original goal, enough to travel around the combined perimeters of the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Arran, as well!

A huge thank you and congratulations to everyone who walked, ran and got involved. Whether you covered a few kilometres or hundreds, every one counted.

It's been fantastic to see the teamwork, encouragement, friendly competition and everyone's photos over the course of the challenge.

Here's to the next one! 👏

Yesterday, we brought the whole team together for our quarterly company meeting, followed by our summer party. ☀️

It was a great opportunity to share business updates, celebrate what we've achieved together and look ahead to what's next.

Afterwards, we swapped meeting rooms for sunshine, enjoyed some fantastic food from the food truck and spent time catching up with colleagues outside of our usual day-to-day.

A brilliant afternoon with a brilliant team. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen!

This month, we are kicking off the Crown Around the UK Step Challenge.

Colleagues across Crown Workforce Management will be supporting their wellbeing by getting outdoors, staying active and working towards both personal and team step goals in a fun and collaborative way.

The challenge takes us around the perimeter of England, Scotland and Wales, split into 33 stages. Each stage varies in length from 68km to 222km, which equates to roughly 3,000 to 10,000 steps per day depending on the stage.

It is a simple idea with a big impact, encouraging movement, teamwork and wellbeing throughout June.

Let’s get moving and see how far we can go together.

Our Head of Projects and Professional Services, David Eatough is a dedicated volunteer with Shropshire • Staffordshire • Cheshire Blood Bikes, a 100% volunteer-run service providing free, urgent transportation of blood and medical supplies to NHS trusts across Shropshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire.

David was part of the team behind the launch of a new blood bike, Imogen III, a BMW R 1300 RT funded entirely through fundraising, which took place at Uttoxeter Health Community Centre.

The bike was unveiled in memory of Imogen Evans, in the presence of her family, friends and the volunteer community. During the event, SSC Blood Bikes rider, Councillor Phil Hudson spoke about the support given to the Evans family when Imogen was so poorly, suffering from neuroblastoma. Over the past decade, three blood bikes have proudly carried her name.

The ribbon was cut by HM Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire, Professor Elizabeth Barnes CBE, with support from local representatives including Deputy Mayor of Uttoxeter, Councillor Aaron Mansfield, alongside Imogen’s mum, gran, cousin, friends and the wider Blood Bikes community.

It was also a special moment to see Imogen II in attendance, one of her final outings before retirement.

A story we’re proud to share, and a reminder of the difference individuals can make in their communities.

Yesterday we celebrated Adrian and Jonathan as they head into retirement, marking an incredible combined 33 years of dedication to our team. We came together to share stories, memories and some lovely words from them both and Managing Director, Mike.

Thank you both for everything you’ve contributed over the years. We wish you all the very best for the exciting adventures ahead!

Last week we launched into 2026 with our Crown Kick Off, and this year the theme was aviation: Ready, Set, Fly! ✈️

Alongside department updates and plans for the year ahead, the team got creative building paper aeroplanes. The winning plane was so big it needed the whole team to carry it! Flying or not, it was a brilliant display of teamwork and imagination.

A perfect reminder that collaboration and creativity always help us reach new heights. Here’s to a year of soaring together! 🚀

Crown celebrated Christmas Jumper Day in the office! It was fantastic to come together, spread some festive cheer and support a great cause 🎄🎅❄️

Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we’ve raised over £160 for Save the Children UK, helping children both in the UK and overseas. If you’d like to contribute, there’s still time to donate - click the link in the comments!

🎄 Crown is part of the Lichfield Cathedral Christmas Tree Festival! 🎄

Our Wellbeing Team took a festive trip to Lichfield last week to decorate the Crown Christmas tree, complete with a Christmas-ready Amington Bear on top. The tree is now proudly on display at the Lichfield Cathedral Christmas Tree Festival, which runs until 4th January.

Visitors are encouraged to donate and vote for their favourite tree, so if you’re stopping by the Cathedral, we’d love for you to take a look at ours.
