The secret to growing your social reels isn’t luck - it’s making content people actually want to save and send.

Think about it: if someone saves your reel, they plan to come back. If they send it, they want others to know about it. That’s the kind of engagement Instagram loves.

Next time you post, ask yourself - would someone keep this or share it? That question will change the way you create content.

Most creators focus on hooks.
But the real reason people watch until the end is closure.

When you open curiosity in your content, the brain naturally wants the answer. That’s why reels that finish the story they start keep viewers watching longer.

It’s a small shift in how you structure content, but it makes a huge difference to watch time and trust.

Save this so you remember:
open the loop early, close it at the end.

Most people focus on the hook.

Very few think about how they’re ending their posts.

But the last line is what lingers. It’s what shapes the impression you leave and whether someone looks out for your next post or forgets you entirely.

A strong ending doesn’t need to be loud or pushy. It just needs to leave a little space - a thread to pick up again, a reason to come back, a sense that there’s more to say.

Over the next few posts I’ll be sharing simple ways to end your content so it feels considered, memorable and worth returning to. If you write captions, blogs or any kind of content for your business, this is something small that makes a big difference.

First one coming next.

I see so many reels saying ‘this is the perfect hook’ and don’t get me wrong, interrupting someone’s scrolling is important, but giving them something worth reading, worth saving, worth coming back for, is more important.

Tell me a movie or a novel where you remember the very beginning- the first chapter or opening scene. Difficult, isn’t it? We’re hard wired to remember the end. Part of it is recency bias and part of it is to do with the arc of a good story. Either way, leaving your audience with a lasting impression is what matters. They need to be left thinking ‘that was interesting’ or ‘I never thought of it that way before’ or even ‘that looks so good!’

There’s several ways to do this so stay tuned for Part II
