Yesterday, I went outside my comfort zone to do something for my business... ๐ฑ
I found 9 websites for businesses in my area that needed a little bit (or a lot!) of TLC ๐ or had issues that needed fixing ๐ . With that info in hand, I wrote an email to each business outlining the issues I found and inviting them to reply to the email or book a call with me.
The first email I sent was TERRIFYING... ๐ณ Was I doing it right? What if they didn't respond?? What if they mark my email as spam?!?
Lots of scary thoughts were going through my mind, but I pushed forward anyway. And it got easier. By email #9, I didn't even think about it.
Sure, all those "bad" things could happen. But what's the absolute worst that can happen? They say "no thanks?" Perhaps reply with a rude email telling me to shove it where the sun don't shine? ๐ฌ
Well, that would certainly be harsh to hear โ but what about the other end of the scale? What if they reply back thanking me for pointing out the problems? What if they've been thinking about updating their website? Who's likely to be in mind for that job now? ๐ ๐
At the end of the day, I know that I can serve those businesses. Rejection is a scary thought, but as Harry Truman said, "Imperfect action is better than perfect inaction every time." ๐
I'd rather take imperfect action and keep moving forward. How about you? ๐ฌ
