Ohhh... not just one, but TWO awards!

We’ve just found out that Bee More Design has won:

📚 We’re delighted to share the new website for Roade Community Library 🎉

The library is entirely volunteer-led and had been relying on an outdated website that was difficult for the team to update and manage.

Visitors can now easily find opening times, discover events, learn about volunteering, enquire about hiring the library space and find ways to support this brilliant community resource.

Most importantly, the team now has a website they can confidently manage themselves.

We’ve loved working on this one and seeing everything come together. 💛

Well... it's finally finished!

What started out as a "fairly short guide" about colour in branding somehow turned into 222 pages, 55 curated colour palettes and two practical re-usable workbooks.

I should probably know by now that none of my "small projects" ever stay small!

Over the past few months, I've spent countless hours researching, writing, designing and testing because I wanted to create something that genuinely helps people understand just how powerful colour is in branding.

Most people think choosing brand colours is simply a case of picking colours they like.
In reality, colour influences first impressions, emotional response, trust, recognition, usability and SO much more.

To mark finally finishing the project, I've also written a blog that shares just five points from the guide.

We have been slightly off radar recently - but we have all been as busy as ever.
Who finds it hard prioritising posting on Social Media when there is always so much to do?

Most logos are designed to look good.
Very few are designed to work

A beautiful logo can attract attention.
A strategic logo can attract the right clients.

A beautiful logo is based on taste.
A strategic logo is based on intention.

A beautiful logo may look impressive on Dribbble.
A strategic logo performs in the real world.

Example:
A psychology practice logo that uses soft colours, abstract shapes, and gentle curves may look calm and professional...

but the same style won’t work equally well for every audience.

For teens, it may feel too generic or disconnected.
For executives, it may feel too soft or lacking authority.

Each audience needs something different.

Teens may respond to something more expressive, relatable, and current.
Executives may expect clarity, confidence, and structure.

Strategy asks
Who are we trying to attract?
What should this feel like to them?
What does “trust” look like for this specific audience?

Because a logo is not decoration.
It is a communication tool.

Beautiful design makes people say “wow this looks nice”
Strategic design makes the right people say “this feels right for me”
And when design feels right, connection becomes easier.
That is the difference

So, We have a new page on our website that I would love for you to go and see.

It is called Precisely Visible, and it holds the hand of accessibility compliance, but looks at the production of communication from a different angle which is missed off WCAG, and most designing teachings.

I know the newest Canva styles edits have been around for ages, but I have been so busy, I haven't got my tinkering hands on them until now, so thought I would look at what our logo would look like with some of them just for fun...

So I used Etching, Scrapbook, 3D and Watercolour...

Kinda fun me thinks!
