🎮 Another PS5 Saved! 🎮

A customer brought in their PS5 with no display, believing it just needed a new HDMI port. After carrying out a full diagnosis, it turned out the HDMI port wasn't the issue.

The fault was traced to the HDMI Encoder IC, the chip responsible for processing the video and audio signals sent to your TV.

We removed the faulty encoder and replaced it with a brand-new Panasonic encoder. After testing, the console was back to displaying perfectly and ready to go home 👊

This is a great example of why accurate diagnostics matter. Replacing the HDMI port alone wouldn't have fixed this fault, potentially costing the customer unnecessary time and money.

⚡ PS5 No Power? It's not always what you'd expect...

A PS5 with no power can be caused by hundreds of different faults. With thousands of components on the motherboard, finding the exact cause requires specialist equipment and thorough diagnostics.

On this repair, after carrying out an in-depth fault-finding process, we traced the issue to a single failed capacitor.

Replacing this tiny component brought the console back to life, saving the customer the cost of replacing their PS5.

🎮 PS5 Overheating? This is why regular servicing matters...

This customer's PS5 was shutting down after around 10 minutes of gameplay due to overheating.

After stripping the console down, it was clear why... the heatsink and airflow channels were completely blocked with dust, preventing the console from cooling properly. The liquid metal had also oxidised and developed a large dry spot on the APU, reducing heat transfer and contributing to the overheating.

✅ Full internal clean
✅ Fresh liquid metal applied
✅ Thorough system service
✅ Passed an extended maximum load stress test with no overheating issues

The console is now running at peak performance and is ready to be returned to its owner.

Single beep. Blue light. Dead!

That's how this PS5 arrived.

A quick blue light for a couple of seconds before shutting straight back off is often a sign of a serious motherboard fault.

In this case, after extensive diagnostics, the culprit was a faulty RAM chip.

The defective memory IC was removed and replaced, restoring normal operation.

Console fully reassembled and running perfectly again. 🎮
