I fixed someone's phone months ago, this morning they've turned up at my home with an issue. My wife explained I wasn't home but would be back in an hour.

They came back less than 30 minutes later, DEMANDING my wife fix it immediately (my wife doesn't fix phones) followed by threats of posting about me all over social media.

She told them to come see me at Aldi where I was shopping.

A soft restart and the phone was miraculously working again.

Suffice to say I was not polite at this point.

Whilst I may choose to work from home occasionally, this does not give anyone the right to just turn up at my door and be rude to my wife, you will be met with the same attitude and more.

Thanks and have a lovely day.

In the last few weeks I've had people trying to ring us at 0120am, 0633 am, 0644am and 0712am.

Whilst my phone is generally on silent at these times, sometimes I'll have my watch on which annoyingly doesn't mirror my phone status.

I'm not sure how anyone can feel this is a reasonable time to try calling people for something which isn't an emergency.

One call was because their printer wouldn't work.

Today's call at 0644am was to request a price for an unlock.

I can't really think of any reasons as to why anyone would feel it's reasonable to be calling anyone at these times.

Suffice to say the quotes were exorbitantly expensive as I personally don't feel this is acceptable, and these customers have been sacked πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

It is that time of year again... Share as you might just help someone.

If you have bought someone a Playstation 5, X-Box One or X-box Series X for Christmas DO NOT WRAP IT UP YET!!!!!!

Over the next few days get it out of the box and plug it in to set it up, the chances are it will need updates. It is simple to do and just a case of following the instructions on screen.

If you have bought games for them put them in too as they will need to be installed, don't forget about the updates on them as well!

If you give it to them on Christmas Day with games depending on your internet connection you they might not get to play with it until Boxing Day due to the time it takes to update all of the above!

You know as well as I do they'll be eager to get playing, for your own peace of mind I highly recommend doing the above!

You'll thank me for it later. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜…

Opened Facebook Marketplace this morning, 13 of the first 16 ads that came up were scams.

81.25%

Someone must be falling for them as they wouldn't keep doing it, and nothing is found to be untoward when reporting them so it's pointless even bothering.

Facebook literally don't care anymore πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

Stolen this from my newsfeed but important nonetheless.

Be aware! If you have an iPhone and have done the recent iOS 17 update, they have set a new feature called NameDrop to default to ON.

This allows the sharing of contact info just by bringing your phones close together. That means if you are in a crowd, you could be sharing your info and your phone is discoverable by those near you!

Uh. NO!

To shut this off go to Settings, General, AirDrop, Bringing Devices Together. Change to OFF

Before anyone parts with their hard earned cash on any internet marketplace, take a moment to check the sellers profile; are they a new member to Facebook/the group?

How old are their photos? Do they look local?

What's their location and is it where the listing state?

Does it seem too cheap?

It's becoming all too common for ads on marketplace to be turn out to be scams, especially with Christmas around the corner I've started to see more ads for consoles etc.

If you can't pay on collection, it likely doesn't exist. Ask for the serial/IMEI of any electronic goods.

Always be vigilant and sadly don't waste your time reporting the ads to Facebook as they quite literally don't do a thing.
