This year Lotus Hifi are attending the StereoNET UK Hi-Fi & AV Expo 2026 at the Radisson RED Convention centre, Raddison Hotel, London Heathrow, Saturday and Sunday 12th-13th of September.

We will be hosting an all TIDAL AUDIO room featuring the newly launched TIDAL Piano Classic floorstander. The Classics represent a new lower cost entry into the TIDAL brand and they will be running with a 2 box system featuring the Contros Streamer/Dac/Pre and Intra stereo power amplifier.

Please come along and say hello. We will be in the Earhart room and there will be plenty of other exhibitors and attractions to keep you entertained.

A good system often gets used almost every day for several hours at a time. It encourages profound listening sessions and deep exploration into more and more music. Ultimately, it will teach you things too, about music and maybe even about yourself. But it often also prompts further system development, not because the system was previously unfinished and lacking, but simply because this is our hobby and when its right, its so damm enjoyable ...

Why part exchange if you really don't have to ? Gems from yesterday that you loved so much. The astonishing £6900 Soulnote A2 V2 Integrated amplifier just took this cute little office system totally supersonic. The Saturn Dac also blew me away, what a thing.

There comes a point where you no longer need to wax lyrical about how good things are. At Lotus, the mere fact of something being included in my shop already communicates much. That is what customers have come to expect from us and what we place in our portfolio can even influence other dealers both at home and overseas.

That being said, the beautiful new Piano Classic loudspeaker from Tidal Audio invites me to break that rule.

There's no easy way of saying this elegantly but here goes. If these speakers were priced at £50,000, nothing that has ever passed through these walls would exceed their performance up to that same price point. They would be a profoundly competitive and compelling product, even when judged against other Tidal Audio speakers in the range. But here's the twist .... they aren't £50,000 but cost just £28,500.

As a dealer it's difficult to put into words what this really means and how breathtaking they truly sound. In a phrase, a veritable gift to the industry. Please simply come for a listen at your leisure and find out everything for yourself with your own ears.

The Thrax Lyra are truly one of my favourites, particularly when adorned with the Hades low-frequency stands. They changed the way I thought about loudspeakers at this price point, forcing me to rethink my recipes and recommendations for everything this side of a Rockport Atria.

And now, waiting in the wings, we have something new from TIDAL Audio GmbH. No less instructive, no less dazzling ... something that may well radically change my shop all over again.

Sound quality is always uppermost, but what’s even more important is the way people actually live, maximising the time one can enjoy music, day to day, hour to hour. Sometimes a dedicated rack simply isn’t possible. A radiator or window can’t be moved, there’s no more room for another box, and that fancy network switch that would surely finish the system off has nowhere to go.

Here we have a beautiful Lotus system situated in the customer’s main living and dining area. For much of the time, the music here is simply part of everyday life, accompanying people as they go about their day. The challenge, therefore, is to integrate the system beautifully and inconspicuously into the space, while extracting the very best possible sound from the limitations at hand, and paying little or no penalty for the compromises of the brief.

Crucially, that means remarkable performance from a relatively small number of boxes, ingenious solutions for equipment isolation, and the creation of a truly gigantic soundstage with fabulous off-axis performance. Because the best seat in the house is sometimes simply wherever life happens to take you.
