The Potteries!

is a great example of resilience and entrepreneurship. It was created by merging 6 towns that all were in on the ceramics' trend of the early 20th century - would-be competitors coming together to create a world-class hub of innovation (bone china was Wedgewood's) and sharing in the spoils.

War turned it into a munitions' centre and, whilst it lost its purpose a little towards the latter half of last century it's reinvesting hard in tech and communications right now.

One of the joys of seeing 46 (and counting!) of the core locations in the UK is taking a bit of time to understand more about what each thinks of itself and where it's come from.

Not sure that I really captured the craziness of 's Racecourse Ground on a random Wednesday morning. There's a busy burger van, loads of UK and international tourists - and me, obvs - standing in a relatively small car park or sitting outside The Turf pub.

When everything to do with the actual football club is shut.

Great to see what publicity can do for a relatively small but historic place.
