Sales pages can be so convincing, can’t they.

I almost got pulled in (unwittingly) just this morning.

You didn’t even know you needed it, but by the time you’ve got to the end, it’s obvious that it’s the ONE THING that’s missing in your life.

And for the bargain price of $27, with 5 super sonic bonuses thrown in.

🏳️ Now, I just want to raise my metaphorical flag in the air for a moment and say…

👉🏻I’m not here to convince anyone.

So if you’re looking for a designer copywriter who is going to manipulate your visitors into taking action, that’s not me.

It’s not how I build websites for people.

Equally, I’m not here to convince you that you need a website, brand or any of the tangible things I offer.

But I do explain:

*The deeper purpose behind what I am doing
*Why it matters to me
*Why I believe it is of value to you, too 💓

Then I want you to use YOUR inner authority to determine whether I am of interest, and decide whether or not to drop me a note or book a call.

There’s no trickery.

No manipulation or cajoling.

No convincing.

I respect my visitors.

And I do this for my clients too…together we build a website that stands for something, and acts as a beacon to aligned people.

I believe this is how we create trustworthy, connecting brands in this new paradigm that we’re building.

Yes it’s less shouty, but I do believe we can stand quietly in our energy, honour our visitors and provide a soft space for them to explore.

As a heart-led founder who isn’t down with cajoling people into buying, It’s easy to feel disillusioned with marketing and social media.

Mainstream marketing tells us to use manipulation, fear-based language, fake scarcity, FOMO and urgency to get people to part with their hard earned cash…

It tells us to use human psychology against our clients in order to make offers that seem too ‘irresistible’ to refuse.

👉🏻It puts the human experience at the bottom of the list. We are just something to be hooked and reeled in.

“I don’t care what they feel, so long as they feel like buying!”

Urgh.

As someone with no interest in using these kind of tactics, it can sometimes feel like you’re at a disadvantage.

…you’re down the road, playing on a different field…all the time wondering if the good guys are ever going to get the chance to win?💚

But you know what?

Let’s stay playing our own game!

Because there’s a new dawn of marketing shaping up.

And it’s kind.

(I can feel it coming, because my 6 Line is tingling 💫)

I don’t have a calculated marketing strategy, the only strategy I have is to practice:

Showing up
Being in service
Sharing my truth
Making an occasional offer

It might not be the quickest route to sales, but it feels kind and ethical, and my people do gravitate to me.

But I do believe there is much more to unlock here…and I am committed to exploring that, and feeding back to those who care.

Soapbox moment over! Phew.

I’m a bit done with being a good girl.

I’m part of a generation of women who towed the line, kept quiet, stayed small.

We boxed ourselves into the shape of what the system said was acceptable to do / be / say.

But in my 40’s, I’ve seen through it, and it’s a journey of trusting that it’s ok to be myself.

That it’s safe to form my own beliefs and views.

That it’s ok to call BS on what I see is broken in my industry.

That I can stand for something.

That I have a voice.

And it is valid.

And that I can give other a women a platform to share their voices and call out the BS too.

We’re not going to get any less vocal now.

We’re out of the box.

Sorry, not sorry to anyone who finds that an inconvenience.

I’m not sure how this will turn out, but here goes.

I’ve ditched IG so many times because it feels deeply inauthentic and I instantly fall into the trap of striving for something I don’t want.

In my hiatus from IG, I’ve been posting daily on LinkedIn without the algorithmic pressure, and now I realise what it is I actually want to say…I want back in 💚

I feel like my message conviction will offer some kind of protection from the noise?!

Maybe I’m being naive 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m an established business - a brand and website designer with a heart-led approach and a focus on authentic, aligned expression.

I love incorporating Human Design and astrology into my projects.

I’m not rekindling this time around. I’ve decided to have a fresh start with where I will share all things brand alignment, human design, authentic expression.

Not going to lie, it feels a bit terrifying.

But it’s time to explore this space again in some way, shape or form.

And without any pressure or attachment to the outcome 😂

Ready for another week ✨

There was a time when I hated Mondays.

I’d woke up with that heavy feeling in my stomach that had been brewing since 4pm the night before.

A Generator not 🔥lit🔥 by work is not a happy thing, but we are ones for knuckling down and towing the line even if it feels out of alignment.

👉🏻Cue years of nurturing side passions into businesses on the side, until I finally found the one that would stick.

This is actually my third iteration of a business.

📣 CO-WORKING UPDATE

Just recently I polled my community for feedback on a purpose-led co-working idea that’s been buzzing in my head.

It’s safe to say that the feedback has been so resoundingly positive that and I are happy to share…

Proof that I’m still alive!

It’s been a while, but what a year it has been.

I don’t know about you, but lessons have been incoming thick and fast.

And I’ve been here for them, in the metaphorical sense, at least.

Since rolling off of Insta in the spring, I’ve been busy over on the other side (LinkedIn):

➡️Getting a handle on a new platform
➡️Building my community from scratch
➡️Learning what people want from me

Turns out that when the algorithm isn’t stacked against you, you have a much better chance of testing and refining your message. Who knew?!

That in itself has been like gold dust in terms of moving my business forwards.

And I’ve been busy integrating my Human Design into my marketing too, aligning my content with my messaging themes and style of influence. It’s been fun!

TBH, it’s been so refreshing to fall in love with marketing my business all over again, and it’s made for my best year yet.

At the end of the day, how we market our business has to feel enjoyable, doesn’t it? Because people can intuitively feel the energy we wrap up into our content.

Anyway, there is no other reason for this post other than to break the silence and drop in to say a big warm hello 👋

I’d love to start connecting again on this platform, but I don’t know what that’s going to look or feel like.

The big brands spend thousands defining their brand story, and they stick to it. One story to rule them all.

As a small business owner you make your brand and your story is constantly evolving. The ability to dance with your message is your super power but so many of us feel the pressure to fit nicely into a defined pigeon hole.

💚 Define your brand story, but don't let it your brand story define you.

Your brand story is an important part of your brand messaging to define, but it doesn't define you...here's why.

Writing to my subscribers (or my lovely inner circle!) is something I’ve shied away from for years - I guess if I’m TOTALLY honest with you I haven’t felt confident to take up space.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But last year I decided it was time to change all of that and for 2023 I committed to trialling a different way of marketing. If you want to read about this you’ll find a link in my ‘blog posts’ highlight.

It’s a bit like experimenting with a new recipe. The old one was ok, but there was way too much social media and not enough of anything else to balance it off - the complete opposite of what I recommend to my clients.

7 weeks into the year and I’m still going strong with my newsletters and blog.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve found interesting things happen when you start writing regularly:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🖊️ You find out what resonates with people because they always take the time to reply when it does.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🖊️ You realise what you’re really called to talk about, away from the conditioning of social media.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🖊️ You DO get unsubscribers, but with every unsubscriber comes an ever more engaged list. Something to be grateful for!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m still holding at a 50-60% open rate which I’ve heard is good.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A lot of people might not be interested in my perspective on things, and that’s perfectly ok! But I won’t be dumbing down my message just to keep people on board💪

There’s enough of that in the world as it is.

Do you really need a website & brand when you’re just getting started? 🤔

Yes, I can help create a brand and online presence…but I’m not interested in doing that JUST for the sake of it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👉 It’s what having a brand and website GIVES my clients that I’m really interested in:

💫It gives you the confidence you need to go out there and actively promote your services.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💫 It means you’ll push yourself forwards for different opportunities knowing you’ve got a credible online presence behind you.

💫 It means you’ll approach your business with the energy and positivity you need to help it flourish.

👉All of this means you’re putting yourself out there in the world to create impact and spread positive ripples.

THIS is the real reason you need a brand behind you, IMO. And it’s what lights me up.

If you have confidence through the roof, then certainly you can get by without any of it for a bit.
