What is an Open & Closed Membership?

The open and closed membership model is opened once in a while to let in a new cohort of members then closed until the new members have completed their course. It helps provide a air of exclusivity for your membership website but equally doesn't allow you to predict your monthly income each month!

We've been busy overhauling the design of our website!

What does that mean for our clients and visitors?

Simplicity, a brighter website and more membership website resources!

We have acted upon feedback from our clients and changed the way we structure our pricing, so it is easier to understand.

A whole new features section now lists exactly what services we can offer, and what type of services they are.

In total, we now have 4 eBooks available to download on our site. You can download them from www.membershipwebsiteslab.com/resources/

I always say a good website is never finished, brands constantly evolve and change. The future of MemberLab is bright.

A great article from LearnDash about creating courses during COVID-19.

We love LearnDash and all of the content they put out so much that it comes as standard with our membership websites

We asked our community members to share how they’ve used LearnDash to create new courses during the Covid-19 pandemic. The responses have been astounding.

One of the main problems most of our clients face is that there are too many options for what you can do with a membership website. That’s the beauty of building your own or getting someone to do it for you; the possibilities are endless.

All the options can be a little overwhelming.

Should I have a forum, weekly Q&A calls, courses?

Have you found yourself asking ‘what is a roadmap, and where is it taking me?’

At MemberLab we’ve helped experts to create membership sites across all industries in all shapes and forms, but there are a few standard features of membership sites that tend to stick out and come up over and over again.

We wanted to share some guidance on what the five most common features are and why they’re essential. By the time you’ve read this article, you’ll be all clued up on what your membership should or could include.

1. Courses

Screenshot of courses page

A staple of most membership websites, usually where you work through a challenge to help the members to achieve their desired outcome or transformation. Courses typically consist of modules, lessons and include some type of supporting downloads like a cheat sheet or workbook.

Some of my favourite courses have covered things like building a sales funnel, learning how to code Javascript, Facebook advertising and bread-making courses!. Courses are also used by big corporations to train their staff, saving the corporations a lot of money on training staff costs.

The beauty of courses is that they can be sold individually, as part of a monthly or annual access subscription or used for lead generation.
